The anti-Nato campaign says it is 'confident' party delegates could be persuaded to stick by its historic opposition to the military alliance.

The pro-NATO policy is backed by party leader Alex Salmond and proposed by defence spokesman Angus Robertson.

The decision will be made at the party’s annual conference at the end of October 2012.


NATO invented an excuse to destroy Libya.

The anti-Nato campaign says that if Scotland stayed out of the alliance, there would be no blocks, post independence, to deactivating Scotland's Trident nuclear weapons immediately.

Glasgow Kelvin MSP Sandra White, says: “If you are a member of Nato then you are in a club. Germany and others have tried to get rid of nuclear weapons but because of the make up of Nato they haven’t been able to do that. We wouldn’t be able to get rid of Trident if we are a member of that club.”

She said she believed grassroots party members backed retention of the policy, saying support in her own constituency was running at 90 per cent. “I would say Angus [Robertson] is worried.”

The NATO run mainstream media claims the Syrian military was responsible for a massacre in the town of Daraya, however the residents of Daraya have a different story.

The civilians of the Daraya massacre were Pro-Assad.

They were ordered by the rebels to support them or die.

They refused to support the rebels.

John Cantlie

One of the anti-Assad terrorists in Syria is a British born doctor who works at a London hospital.

"The AK-47-wielding doctor is part of an extremist gang that held veteran war photographer John Cantlie and a fellow western journalist hostage for a week." 

John Cantlie was shot in the arm when he tried to escape.

Cantlie was later treated by the terrorist doctor, who was using a UK National Health Service medical kit.

The doctor, aged 28, intends to return to his senior post in a South London hospital when he leaves Syria.

The doctor is "among the leaders of a group who were planning to behead 'spies' and was furious when the execution of two Syrians he believed to be undercover agents was halted". 

The doctor spoke in a South London accent and said he was glad of the experience in Syria as when he returned to Britain he wanted to specialise in trauma injuries.

"The doctor, who is believed to be of Pakistani descent, was among around 15 British nationals at the terror camp, many of whom had London accents."

Do they all work for MI6?

An 'al-Qaeda militant' suspected of bombing a hotel and two churches in Pakistan in 2002 was working for MI6, it has been claimed.

"The Guardian claims to have seen secret Wikileaks files in which Adil Hadi al Jazairi Bin Hamlilihe is described as an al-Qaeda 'assassin'.
