Both the Bush and Zine Ben Ali families have been linked to the heroin trade. But, while the level of drug taking in the USA is rated very high, the level in Tunisia is rated LOW.

It is our belief that most world leaders have things to hide.

It's a matter of relativity. Who was worse: the Shah or the Ayatollahs?

It is our belief that the CIA and its friends toppled the Shah, Suharto, Marcos, Saddam, Ben Ali and many others.

None of these leaders were saints; some were gangsters and war criminals; all were close friends of the CIA at one time or another.

And Saddam offered to leave Iraq to prevent a war.

And the invasion of Iraq has made things very much worse for the average Iraqi.

Moncef Ben Ali, also known as Habib Ben Ali, was murdered in 1996.

He was the elder brother of former President Zine Ben Ali.

Both Moncef and Zine have been linked to criminal activity.

On 30 November 1992, in Paris, "Moncef" was sentenced in absentia to ten years imprisonment in connection with drug trafficking.

Moncef's lawyer stated that there had been political manipulation and that there was "no physical evidence" that Moncef Ben Ali was involved in "laundering" money derived from trafficking.

On 24 December 2011, we read that a Maltese and a Latvian were arrested in Tunisia after allegedly being caught with a kilogramme of heroin. (timesofmalta.com - Maltese man arrested in Tunis 'known to Drug Squad')

Demand and trafficking of drugs globally. Tunisia is rated LOW

The Tunisian authorities have reportedly taken a hard line against drugs.

But, things are changing in Tunisia, as result of the 'CIA-NATO coup' of January 2011.

According to the UN, "In only five years, Sub-Saharan Africa has become the new hub for drug cartels from Latin America trying to gain entry into Europe.

"North Africa has not been spared from the drug trade as terrorist groups seek to take advantage of the growing phenomenon."

In February 2010, the Mauritanian army intercepted a drug convoy escorted by Islamist militants.

"You have terrorist networks, smuggling networks, human trafficking networks, and there are points of contact, coordination between all these nice people," said one diplomatic source in the Mauritanian capital, Nouakchott.

"We know that AQIM (Al-Qaeda-CIA in North Africa) people have been involved in the drug trade, but as freelancers," he added.

"Some are members of AQIM and of criminal gangs at the same time."

Michael Braun, the US Drug Enforcement Administration's former head of operations, said the "Colombian cartels have established business relations with AQIM."

"They are using long-established AQIM smuggling routes to North Africa and Southern Europe, moving tons of arms or tons of cocaine: it's the same route."

Nor was it the first time the Colombians had set up this kind of route, he said.

Women were free.

And girls did not wear the veil.

Ansari and Sabauddin were accused of preparing maps for the Mumbai attack.

The two were found not guilty by Judge M L Tahaliyani, who said that better maps were available on the Internet.

One of the maps was allegedly found in the pocket of deceased 'terrorist' Abu Ismail and the hand writing on it is 'proved' to be that of Ansari, according to the Mumbai police.

On the morning of 17 December 2010, Mohamed Bouazizi reportedly had an argument with a municipal inspector Ms. Faida Hamdy.

Some reports erroneously call Faida Hamdy a policewoman.

Bouazizi allegedly wrestled with Faida Hamdy.

Faida Hamdy allegedly slapped Mohamed in the face, spat at him, and made a slur against Bouazizi's deceased father. ("Peddler's martyrdom launched Tunisia's revolution".)

According to the new York Times ("Slap to a Man’s Pride Set Off Tumult in Tunisia"):

"Ms. Hamdy, arrested on orders from the now-deposed president himself, is in jail in another town.

"Her colleagues maintain that she is honest and did not take bribes.

"Her supervisor, who requested anonymity for fear of being beaten in the streets, said an investigation found that Ms. Hamdy had never slapped Mr. Bouazizi.

"'Do you really believe a woman can slap a man in front of 40 other people and no one would react?' he said."

Reportedly, Bouazizi went to the local Governor to complain, but the Governor would not see him.

Mohamed then "left a message for his mother on his Facebook page."

Around noon, Mohamed reportedly set himself alight with 'paint thinner' or 'petrol', depending on which source you read.

Reportedly, he was taken to a hospital specialising in burns.

On 31 December it was reported that doctors at the hospital where Mohammad was being treated said 'there were positive prognostic factors and that his condition was improving'.

Mannoubia, Mohamed's mother is reported as saying: "The doctors told me that he should be fine."

Reportedly, Mohamed died on January 2011.

According to this account Mohamed had decided to go to Tunis by bus.

Mohamed's facebook page read: "I'm travelling, mother... I am now going and I will not be coming back... I'm travelling and I ask who leads the travel to forget."

Reportedly, when he arrived at the bus station he found that he had no money.

He then set himself on fire.

The media has reported that Mohamed had a university degree in computer science.

His sister, Samia Bouazizi, has stated that Mohamed never graduated from high school.

1. In 1996, Tunisian Minister of Justice Sadok Chaabane said that Tunisian Islamists get their funding and political support from (1) Iran (2) Saudi Arabia.

According to Chaabane, the 'Islamist' plan is to use Tunisia as "the gateway to its larger neighbors, Algeria and Morocco."

Tunisians belong to Sunni Islam, but Chaabane states that Tunisia's Islamist leaders will accept help from wherever they can find it.

They tried to seize Gafsa's civil and military installations.

The local people refused to join the revolt.

Tunisian troops defeated the militants. 41 men died.

Big corporations benefit from their links to top people.

In the USA, the top 'Fortune 500' corporations now account for over 80% of the USA's GDP.

Some people support the toppling of Ben Ali in Tunisia because his family had links to many businesses, including banks, hotels, construction, newspapers, supermarkets and pharmaceuticals.

Imagine you are an American company involved in the dealership in Ford cars or a French company running Monoprix supermarkets.

The law requires you to have a Tunisian partner.

Very many countries, not wanting to be taken over by big global corporations, insist that foreign businesses have 'local' partners.

So, you can choose a member of the Ben Ali family, or, some poorly connected person.

It is not surprising that your Chairman, Board of Directors and your shareholders are happy to have a member of the Ben Ali family as partner.

This allows you to get things done more quickly.

It is not necessarily corrupt.

An Australian friend tells me that when he set up a business in Indonesia, and had to have an Indonesian partner, he deliberately chose a retired Admiral with good connections.

Tunisia is probably less corrupt than the USA.

Swedish journalists 'were critical of the interview, saying she asked very few critical questions.'

Ridley is a member of George Galloway's 'spooky' Respect Party.

At the "Muslimer i Dialog" conference in Copenhagen in September 2005, Ridley was asked if she didn't see it as a problem that militant Islamists distribute recruiting videos of Iraqi insurgents killing hostages.

She replied that it was necessary for Muslims to have these videos at home as an alternative form of news to what she perceived as the propaganda of Western media.

Critics have accused her of defending the 'late' Abu Musab al-Zarqawi who has been linked to the 9 November 2005 Amman bombings in Jordan, which saw 60 persons killed.

She said of al-Zarqawi that she would "rather put up with a brother like Abu Musab al-Zarqawi any day than have a traitor or sell-out for a father, son or grandfather" – a reference to the Jordanian royal family.

At a meeting of the Respect party on 6 June 2006, following the Forest Gate raid, Ridley urged all Muslims in Britain to "boycott the police and refuse to co-operate with them in any way, shape or form until the boys are released."

One might suspect that Ridley is promoting the Clash of Civilisations, sought by Mossad and its friends.

She has backed the 'CIA coup' in Tunisia.

The Arab Institute for Human Rights received $43,900 to train teachers in their so-called “civic values” ideology, focusing on primary schools and training school inspectors. The Center for International Private Enterprise (CIPE) received $175, 818 to inculcate free enterprise doctrines among Tunisian businessmen...The Mohamed Ali Center for Research, Studies, and Training received $38,500 in 2007. Also that year: Moroccan Organization for Human Rights (OMDH) $60,000 - To strengthen a group of young Tunisian attorneys as they mobilize citizens on reform issues. 2008: Al-Jahedh Forum for Free Thought received $57,000; Center for International Private Enterprise, $163,205; Centre Mohamed Ali de Reserches d’Etudes et de Formation, $37,800; Tunisian Arab Civitas Institute, $43,000, aimed at training teachers on the NED ideologies of “civic values.”

4. "NED has promoted in Tunisia ... a revolutionary cadre based on youth and professionals for the overthrow of a regime that is seen as an anomaly in the 'new world order.'"

5. The 'colour revolutions' use radio and TV stations.

In the case of Tunisia, Radio Kalima had the support of Soros's organisation.

6. At least ten of the twenty-two directors of NED are also members of the Council on Foreign Relations.

7. The US Establishment showed no sympathy for Ben Ali at the crucial moment.

Among those unsympathetic to Ben Ali were Elliott Abrams, formerly national security adviser for Middle East affairs and now Council on Foreign Relations Senior Fellow of Middle East Studies, Hillary Clinton and President Obama.

Russia's former ambassador in Tunisia Veniamin Popov commented on the situation in Tunisia as follows:

The Shah was modernising Iran, giving land to the poor and cracking down on heroin.

But he criticised Israel and he was not always cooperating with the USA on oil.

The CIA wanted a feudal Islamic Iran that could be used against Russia.

So, the Shah had to be demonised and toppled.

Ben Ali made Tunisia the most successful country in Africa, but he was not cooperating fully with the USA.

The Shah of Iran represented 'oil price hawkishness.'

In 1973, the Shah of Iran, whose nation was the world's second-largest exporter of oil, told the New York Times:

"Of course (the world price of oil) is going to rise. Certainly! And how...; You (Western nations) increased the price of wheat you sell us by 300%, and the same for sugar and cement...; You buy our crude oil and sell it back to us, refined as petrochemicals, at a hundred times the price you've paid to us...; It's only fair that, from now on, you should pay more for oil. Let's say ten times more."[3]

The Shah met President Carter in Washington in November 1977. The Shah agreed to help the USA by keeping down oil prices.

The Shah had enemies.

When interviewed on CBS 60 Minutes by reporter, Mike Wallace, the Shah criticized US Jews for their control over US media and finance.[18]

According to 'A Century Of War : Anglo-American Oil Politics and the New World Order, by William Engdahl, a German historian:

1. In 1978, "negotiations were under way between the Shah's government and British Petroleum for renewal of the 25-year old extraction agreement.

"By October 1978, the talks had collapsed over a British 'offer' which demanded exclusive rights to Iran's future oil output, while refusing to guarantee purchase of the oil.

"With their dependence on British-controlled export apparently at an end, Iran appeared on the verge of independence in its oil sales policy for the first time since 1953, with eager prospective buyers in Germany, France, Japan and elsewhere...

2. "In November 1978, President Carter named the Bilderberg group's George Ball, another member of the Trilateral Commission, to head a special White House Iran task force under the National Security Council's Brzezinski.

"Ball recommended that Washington drop support for the Shah of Iran and support the fundamentalistic Islamic opposition of Ayatollah Khomeini.

"Robert Bowie from the CIA was one of the lead 'case officers' in the new CIA-led coup against the man their covert actions had placed into power 25 years earlier.

"Their scheme was based on a detailed study of the phenomenon of Islamic fundamentalism, as presented by British Islamic expert, Dr. Bernard Lewis, then on assignment at Princeton University in the United States.

"Lewis's scheme, which was unveiled at the May 1979 Bilderberg meeting in Austria, endorsed the radical Muslim Brotherhood movement behind Khomeini, in order to promote balkanization of the entire Muslim Near East along tribal and religious lines.

"Lewis argued that the West should encourage autonomous groups such as the Kurds, Armenians, Lebanese Maronites, Ethiopian Copts, Azerbaijani Turks, and so forth. The chaos would spread in what he termed an 'Arc of Crisis,' which would spill over into Muslim regions of the Soviet Union.

"The coup against the Shah, like that against Mossadegh in 1953, was run by British and American intelligence..."

3. "Indications are that the actual planners of the Iranian Khomeini coup in London and within the senior ranks of the U.S. liberal establishment decided to keep President Carter largely ignorant of the policy and its ultimate objectives. The ensuing energy crisis in the United States was a major factor in bringing about Carter's defeat a year later."

4. "London was blackmailing and putting enormous economic pressure on the Shah's regime by refusing to buy Iranian oil production, taking only 3 million or so barrels daily of an agreed minimum of 5 million barrels per day.

"This imposed dramatic revenue pressures on Iran, which provided the context in which religious discontent against the Shah could be fanned by trained agitators deployed by British and U.S. intelligence. In addition, strikes among oil workers at this critical juncture crippled Iranian oil production.

"As Iran's domestic economic troubles grew, American 'security' advisers to the Shah's Savak secret police implemented a policy of ever more brutal repression, in a manner calculated to maximize popular antipathy to the Shah.

"At the same time, the Carter administration cynically began protesting abuses of 'human rights' under the Shah.

"British Petroleum reportedly began to organize capital flight out of Iran, through its strong influence in Iran's financial and banking community.

"The British Broadcasting Corporation's Persian-language broadcasts, with dozens of Persian-speaking BBC 'correspondents' sent into even the smallest village, drummed up hysteria against the Shah.

"The BBC gave Ayatollah Khomeini a full propaganda platform inside Iran during this time."

According to the Shah, in his memoir Answer to History, General Robert Huyser, a top NATO official, came to Iran, unannounced, with the primary mission of paralyzing the Iranian the army.[27]

Allegedly, according to some supporters of the Shah, the leaders of US, UK, France, and Germany, in a summit held in Guadeloupe in 1979, came to an agreement with the US to remove the Shah. (Mohammad Reza Pahlavi - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia)

On 19 January 1980, the International Herald Tribune reported that the Shah had said, two years before he was overthrown, that he had heard from two different sources connected with oil companies that the regime in Iran would change.

‘We believe that there was a plan to ensure less oil was offered to the world markets in order to bring about a price,’ said the Shah. ‘One country was to be chosen for the sacrifice... Reportedly, the CIA and MI6 toppled the Shah because he had become too much of a nationalist, like Nasser, and was not following instructions on oil.

The CIA did not want left-wing democrats taking over from the Shah as they might not be easy to control. So, reportedly, the CIA allowed the Ayatollahs to take over.

Radio Free Iran claimed that while at Qom, the Ayatollah Khomeini received a "monthly stipend from the British, and he is in constant contact with his masters, the British."

The Shah's nationalist policies worried the CIA and MI6.

The Shah signed petroleum agreements with ENI, the Italian oil company.

The Shah pushed forward popular reforms known as the White Revolution.

Opium production was ended.

There was a nuclear programme.

The Shah seemed like a nationalist Nasser and the Anglo-Americans wanted him out.

Prior to the British-sponsored massive public relations campaign on behalf of the Ayatollah the government of the Shah was loved by the vast majority of the population.

The Shah evolved into a nationalist:

- He bought land from the upper classes and, along with the crown's own land, sold it back cheaply to tenant farmers, allowing over one a half million people to become land owners and ending the old feudal system.

- He allowed women the right to vote, and brought an end to the wearing of the veil, which were "Westernizing" moves unwelcomed by the religious sector.

- He pushed forward on a $90 billion nuclear power program.

- He moved to shut down the lucrative opium industry that had been created during the days of British Empire control that had been running for a hundred years....

The attack on the Shah's government came through the Muslim Brotherhood and through the mullahs and ayatollahs of Iran, supported and manipulated by British Intelligence...
