Vincent Foster
"Garrett was the lead FBI investigator in the strange death of Clinton White House Deputy Counsel Vincent W. Foster.
"Foster's body was, like Levy's, found in a heavily wooded area near Washington D.C.. The official cause of death, touted from the outset as a suicide, was declared due to a gunshot fired into the mouth.
"The weapon, said to be a black 1913 Army Colt .38 Special six-shot revolver, was said to have been found in Foster's hand.
"It is significant, therefore, to note that x-rays of the initial autopsy of Vincent Foster's corpse are listed by Federal coroners as now being 'missing', and that no one in the Foster family recalls there being a firearm of that model or appearance anywhere, ever, in their residence.
"Also, there was no blood found on the cuff, sleeve, or wrist of Foster, as would have been elicited naturally, from what they call 'blowback', by a self-inflicted gunshot held close inside the soft-palate.
"The first witness to find the body insisted that there had been no gun near the body.
"The memory in Foster's pager had been erased. Foster's office at the White House was looted. Secret Service agent Henry O' Neill watched Hillary Clinton's chief of staff, Margaret Williams, carry boxes of papers out of Foster's office before the Police showed up to seal it.
"There were indications the body had been moved, and a Secret Service memo surfaced which reported that Foster's body had been found in his car! Garrett helped to completly cover up these glaring inconsistencies." - http://www.geocities.com/northstarzone/LEVY.html%20WHAT%20REALLY%20...

Day trip to Deir Yassin for pupils from every school
The UK Schools Minister, wants the teenagers who take part to educate their classmates and communities in turn by giving them their own accounts of the massacre at Deir Yassin.
Teenagers selected for the visit will also have a chance to meet Palestinians who survived the massacre at Jenin.
PLOT TO TOPPLE TURKISH GOVERNMENT
The BBC's Sarah Rainsford refers to an ultra-nationalist gang known as Ergenekon.
This gang has allegedly been plotting to topple the Turkish government.
Thirty three alleged members of the gang were grabbed in a police raid in January 2008.
It is alleged that the gang's plan was to destabilise Turkey by assassinating a number of Turkish intellectuals, including Nobel Laureate Orhan Pamuk.
Allegedly, this was supposed to lead to the military taking over Turkey in 2009.
According to the Hurriyet newspaper, a list of targets had been drawn up and a hitman hired.
Sabah newspaper linked the gang to the recent murder of three Protestant Christians and Turkish-Armenian journalist Hrant Dink.
Those detained include retired Brig General Veli Kucuk, an alleged mafia boss.
In June 2007, a raid in Istanbul uncovered a large amount of hand grenades and explosives. A number of former military personnel were detained at that time.
The Ergenekon affair has been the top news in Turkish newspapers.
The newspapers refer to the 'deep state', namely the 'fascist' generals and members of the elite.
In previous decades, the CIA and its friends in NATO are reported to have employed paramilitary gangs in order to keep the 'right wing' in power in Europe, including Turkey.
"Those structures still exist," claims newspaper columnist Cengiz Candar. ('Deep state plot' Coup rumours about rogue security officials set Turkey abuzz)
In 1996, a car crashed in the town of Susurluk. The car contained a senior police chief, a prominent politician and a wanted assassin.
According to Cengiz Candar, "Susurluk revealed weird connections between state officials and those who operate outside the limits of the law. It happened at a time when we had a lot of extra-judicial killings in Turkey."
"But the investigation stopped just as there was speculation it was reaching very sensitive spots, even the military establishment. That only confirmed the existence of these networks in the public consciousness." ('Deep state plot' Coup rumours about rogue security officials set Turkey abuzz)
Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan has used the term "deep state" to describe the police operation against Ergenekon.
Erdogan is quoted as saying: "These gangs are not new in our country. Our aim is to get rid of them. We see gangs in the most important institutions. People who once worked in these institutions join these organisations .... There is a deep Turkey working against the deep state. This prevents them [the gangs] being as active as they once were."
The Turkish army's chief-of-staff, General Buyukanit, has defended the military, saying that "the Turkish military is not a criminal organisation." ('Deep state plot' Coup rumours about rogue security officials set Turkey abuzz )
Who is behind the terrorism in Turkey? Could it be fascists within the military?
The Economist, 22 December 2007, tells us about terror attacks on Christians in Turkey (The cross and the crescent):
In January 2007, Hrant Dink, an ethnic Armenian newspaper editor, was shot dead in Istanbul.
In April 2007, two Turks and a German, all Christian evangelists, were murdered in Malatya.
Husnu Ondul is president of the Turkish Human Rights Association.
Like many others, Ondul believes that the 'deep state', is behind the attacks.
The 'deep state' is made up of a few judges, army officers and security officials.
They need enemies to justify their grip on power.
Evidence leaked to the media in the Dink and Malatya cases points to collusion between the murderers and elements of the police and army.
The ruling Justice and Development (AK) party has treated Christians better than its secular predecessors did.
"The deep state is still in charge,” says a Christian priest.
Operation Gladio reportedly involved getting right-wing terrorists to carry out terrorist attacks in Europe and in Turkey, in order to keep right wing parties in power.
Operation Gladio was reportedly organised by Nato and the CIA.
"The CONTRA-GUERRILLAS, which were the GLADIO organisation in Turkey, were set up from the 1950s onwards and played a significant part in fascist governments during the modern history of Turkey, irrespective of whether these had a veneer of parliamentary democracy or were an overt military junta." http://www.stopthenato.org/m/zit/id_ses/2337520f9/id_p/10/opt/read_e/id_s/433.html
"Utilizing the fascist and ultra-nationalist National Action Party and its youth wing, the Gray Wolves, the Turkish 'Stay Behind' also resulted in the type of right-wing terror program and destabilization effort that it did in Italy." http://www.spitfirelist.com/f059.html
When the Islamist prime minister Necemettin Erbakan took power in 1996, the Turkish military, quickly eased him out of power.
In elections for the Turkish parliament on November 3, 2002, a new party formed out of a banned Islamic movement - the Justice and Development Party (AKP) - won 35 percent of the popular vote and 363 of the 550 seats.
This may have worried the Pentagon, Israel, the Turkish military and the Turkish drugs industry.
According to a report in The Jerusalem Post (http://www.hr-action.org/archive1/990225tjp1.html), intelligence cooperation between the Mossad and the Turkish security service, MIT, "was enshrined in a 12-clause agreement that was signed during a 1993 visit to Israel by then-Turkish foreign minister Hikmat Chetin".
Soon after, according to the London-based newsletter Foreign Report, a large Mossad operation was established in Turkey, with Mossad agents based in both Istanbul and Ankara.
In 2003, there was a major bombing attack in istanbul.
The Turkish Top Military Brass met Paul Wolfowitz one day before theIstanbul Attacks (http://globalresearch.ca/articles/ANA311A.html)
The two Istanbul attacks respectively on the HSBC in the financial district and on the British Consulate were, according to media reports "timed to coincide with President George Bush's state visit to London."
The attacks took place one day following the completion of the annual Turkish-US Joint Defense Group meeting (17-19 November 2003).
The British Consul General Roger Short, was killed by the bomb as he was entering the consulate building. Press reports confirmed that he had cancelled an appointment at the last minute and "if he had gone to his appointment, he would have been alive"
The attacks create conditions for Turkey's participation in the war on terrorism.
The attacks serve to strengthen the Anglo-American military axis and the legitimacy of Bush's "War on terrorism."
The Istanbul bombings also serve to uphold the shaky legitimacy of Prime Minister Tony Blair in the face of mounting political opposition to Britain's' participation in the US led war.
"A Turkish daily close to the ruling justice and development party quoted Turkish intelligence sources as saying that the Mossad had established the organization that launched the two attacks on 15th November, 2003." http://www.mediareviewnet.com/Zionist%20intelligence%20engineered%20Istanbul%20blasts.htm
Online Journal had an article about Turkey and drugs.
http://www.onlinejournal.com/Special_Reports/062904Stanton/062904stanton.html
Turkey is a major refining and transit point for the flow of heroin from Southwest Asia to Western Europe.
Kendal Nezan, writing for Le Monde Diplomatique, has reported that MIT (the Turkish security services) and the Turkish National Police force were actively supporting the trade in illicit drugs not only for fun and profit, but out of desperation.
"After the Gulf War in 1991, Turkey found itself deprived of the all-important Iraqi market and, since it lacked significant oil reserves of its own, it decided to make up for the loss by turning more massively to drugs.
"The trafficking increased in intensity with the arrival of the hawks in power, after the death in suspicious circumstances of President Turgut Özal in April 1993.
"According to the minister of interior, the war in Kurdistan had cost the Turkish exchequer upwards of $12.5 billion.
"According to the daily Hürriyet, Turkey's heroin trafficking brought in $25 billion in 1995 and $37.5 billion in 1996 . . .
"Only criminal networks working in close cooperation with the police and the army could possibly organize trafficking on such a scale.
"Drug barons have stated publicly, on Turkish television and in the West, that they have been working under the protection of the Turkish government and to its financial benefit.
"The traffickers themselves travel on diplomatic passports.
"The drugs are even transported by military helicopter from the Iranian border."
The Middle East Report concluded in 1998 that probably the greatest strategic move in the Clinton post-Cold War years is what could be called "The Ankara Pact"—an alliance between the US, Turkey, and Israel that essentially circumvents and bottles up the Arab countries.
In 1998, Israeli, Turkish and American military forces engaged in exercises in the Mediterranean, according to Reuters and Agencie France Press.
"[These exercises] signal to the radical states in the region that there is a strong alliance between Israel, Turkey and the United States which they must fear."
Reports also indicated that the CIA and Pentagon intelligence organizations had regularly chaired meetings of Turkish and Israeli officers in Tel Aviv for years.

Britain's murderous military
Louise was repeatedly raped and then beaten to death with a shovel.
On 27 March 1996, the three soldiers were convicted of abduction, rape and manslaughter and sentenced to life imprisonment. (Louise Jensen - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia)
They were released in August 2006 after spending only a few years in custody.
Private Stuart Mackenzie was in Iraq in 2003 ( Diary of a squaddie: Sunburn, sore feet and three more Ali Babas ... ) He was attached to the Queen's Lancashire Regiment which ran the detention centre in which Iraqi hotel worker Baha Mousa was held before dying from the 93 injuries he sustained.
Mackenzie kept a diary and extracts were produced at the court martial of the seven soldiers who were acquitted of abusing prisoners.
Mackenzie wrote:

According to some historians, Britain bears “significant responsibility” since 1945 for the direct or indirect deaths of 8.6 million to 13.5 million people throughout the world from military interventions and at the hands of regimes strongly supported by Britain. (Unpeople, Dirty Wars and a Web of Deceit – Britain’s Foreign ...)
During World War I, Britain executed 306 of its own soldiers, some as young as 14 years of age. (http://www.wsws.org/articles/1999/nov1999/shot-n16.shtml)
From an article by Harvey Thompson at WSWS 16 November 1999:
A typical case is that of Harry Farr, who joined the British Expeditionary Force in 1914 and fought in the trenches.
His position was repeatedly shelled, and in May 1915 he collapsed with strong convulsions.
In hospital, his wife Gertrude—who was denied a widow's pension after the war—recalled, “he shook all the time. He couldn't stand the noise of the guns. We got a letter from him, but it was in a stranger's handwriting. He could write perfectly well, but couldn't hold the pen because his hand was shaking.”
It is now thought that Farr was possibly suffering from hypacusis, which occurs when the eardrums are so damaged that the auditory nerve becomes exposed, making loud noises physically unbearable. Despite this, Farr was sent back to the front and fought at the Somme. After several months of fighting, he requested to see a medical orderly but was refused.
In Farr's Court Martial papers, the Sergeant Major is quoted as saying “If you don't go up to the f*****g front, I'm going to f*****g blow your brains out” to which Farr simply replied “I just can't go on.”
The Court Martial was over in 20 minutes. Harry Farr had to defend himself. General Haig signed his death warrant and he was shot at dawn on October 16, 1916.
Prior to World War II, elements of the British military were fans of Hitler.
According to Admiral Sir Barry Domville, a pre-war head of UK Naval Intelligence, Hitler was "absolutely terrific."
Wing Commander Frederick Winterbottom, a pre-war head of MI6's air section, reportedly hoped Britain and Germany would unite against Stalin's Russia. (Hackitectura Advance - [History of M15)
Giles MacDonogh has written After the Reich: The Brutal History of the Allied Occupation. (A hellish peace)
According to MacDonogh's evidence, at the end of World War II, the British military and its allies went in for rape, torture and murder.
Ian Cobain, in The Guardian 17 December 2005 wrote about the secret torture centres set up by the British military after World War II - The interrogation camp that turned prisoners into living skeletons ...
One of the British torture centres was at Bad Nenndorf, near Hanover.
372 men and 44 women passed through the Bad Nenndorf torture centre during the 22 months it operated before its closure in July 1947.
A Scotland Yard detective, Inspector Tom Hayward, investigated Bad Nenndorf.
He describes how prisoners were systematically beaten and exposed to extreme cold; some were starved to death and, allegedly, tortured with instruments that his fellow countrymen had recovered from a Gestapo prison in Hamburg.
Many of the prisoners were simply German leftists.
Others were Germans living in the Russian zone who had crossed the line, offered to spy on the Russians, and were tortured to establish whether they were genuine defectors.
One of the men who was starved to death, Walter Bergmann, had offered to spy for the British, and fell under suspicion because he spoke Russian.
Another man who starved to death, Franz Osterreicher, had been arrested while attempting to enter the British zone in search of his gay lover.
Ingrid Groth, then a seven-year-old, said locals claimed that if you crept up to the barbed wire at night, you could hear the prisoners' screams.
The commanding officer was Robin "Tin Eye" Stephens of MI5.
The inmates were starved, woken during the night, and forced to walk up and down their cells from early morning until late at night. When moving about the prison they were expected to run, while soldiers kicked them.
Prisoners could be stripped and repeatedly doused in water. This punishment could continue for weeks, even in sub-zero temperatures.
Naked prisoners were handcuffed back-to-back and forced to stand before open windows in midwinter. Frostbite became common.
One victim of the cold cell punishment was Buttlar...an anti-Nazi, he had spent two years as a prisoner of the Gestapo.
"I never in all those two years had undergone such treatments," he said.
Reportedly, the British military also got into bed with the Nazis.
After the war, "British authorities called off the hunt for the man who organised the Nazi Holocaust just 17 months after the end of World War II, files have revealed. The files relating to Adolf Eichmann were released by The National Archives. They show that at the time the decision was made, Eichmann was hiding in the British-controlled zone of Germany. He went to Argentina in 1950." - Eichmann search was ended early
Horst Kopkow, one of Hitler’s top spies, who ordered the murders of more than 100 British secret agents in concentration camps, was spared execution as a war criminal and went to work for MI6. Evidence emerged in the 1980s that Britain had become a refuge for suspected war criminals. - http://www.timesonline.co.uk/article/0,,2-1611185,00.html
Historian Mark Curtis has written: 1. 'Unpeople: Britain’s Secret Human Rights Abuses' (2004) 2. 'Web of Deceit: Britain’s Real Role in the World' (2003) Published by Vintage.
Paul Cochrane, at Worldpress.org , 6 January 2005, (Unpeople, Dirty Wars and a Web of Deceit – Britain’s Foreign ...) reviewed Curtis's books.
He wrote:
According to new research, Britain bears “significant responsibility” since 1945 for the direct or indirect deaths of 8.6 million to 13.5 million people throughout the world from military interventions and at the hands of regimes strongly supported by Britain.
Curtis said he came up with the term “Unpeople” because he thought it adequately described the British government’s attitude towards people who are expendable in Britain’s pursuit of economic and political goals.
“Last year,” Curtis said in a phone interview, “there was a British army officer who was quoted in Iraq as saying the Americans view the Iraqis only as Untermenschen, the Nazi concept of subhuman. In a way, the British have no real different regard for Iraqis than Americans."
Mark Curtis says that in 1971 an official British investigation found that the British army's torture techniques "played an important part in counter-insurgency operations in Palestine, Malaya, Kenya, Cyprus and the British Cameroons (1960-1), Brunei (1963), British Guiana (1964), Aden (1964-7), Borneo/Malaysia (1965-6), the Persian Gulf (1970-1) and in Northern Ireland (1971)".
In KENYA, the British used beatings, sexual humiliation, hooding, sleep deprivation, and bombarding with white noise.
32 Whites were killed by the Mau Mau during the five-year state of emergency. More whites died in traffic accidents in the capital city, Nairobi.
Kenyans were forced into concentration camps and routinely tortured. Some 150,000 Africans died as a direct result of the British policy.
There was a "constant stream of reports of brutalities by police, military and home guards", wrote Canon Bewes, a British missionary. "Some of the people had been using castration instruments and two men had died under castration."
Other brutalities included slicing off ears, boring holes in eardrums, flogging people to death, pouring paraffin over suspects and setting them alight and burning eardrums with cigarettes.
A British district officer admitted, "There was outright abuse of power and some of the crimes committed were horrific. One day six Mau Mau suspects were brought into a police station in the neighbouring district to mine. The British police inspector in charge lined them up against a wall and shot them."
A mobile gallows travelled the country. Over 1,000 were hanged, their bodies displayed at crossroads and market places.
MALAYSIA
The British used terror in Malaya.
This involved aerial bombing, massacres of villagers, dictatorial police measures and the "resettlement" of hundreds of thousands of people.
CYPRUS
During the state of emergency, from 1952 to 1957, the British army used torture.
Cypriot Nicos Koshies:
"They took me to the Special Branch and they started beating me. They took off all my clothes, they tied my hands and feet. They asked somebody to come in. He was taking a stick to put up my bottom, he was putting cloths in water and putting them on my face so I could not breathe, he threw me down and danced on my stomach when he was wearing boots. After 12 days I could not recognise myself."
James Callaghan in the House of Commons:
"On 29 June 1957 an inquest was held into the death of Nicos Georghiou. Dr Clearkin said in evidence that bruises in the head were sufficiently severe to have caused the injuries to the brain, perhaps bumping the head against a hard object."
IRAN
In 1953 a coup organised by the British and the USA overthrew Mossadeq and gave power to the Shah.
British SAS forces trained the Shah's Savak secret police.
SAS officers helped train the Iranian army in special operations against the Kurds.
The Shah's regime used torture until it was overthrown in 1979.
ADEN/SOUTH YEMEN
In Aden, later known as South Yemen, SAS squads used terror against local villages.
An official investigation found that from 1964 to 1967 detainees at a British interrogation centre were routinely tortured. Their eardrums were burst.
Others were forced to lean against walls with their fingertips for day and subjected to white noise for hours.
BAHRAIN
Former detainees in Bahrain have described being beaten, electrocuted, whipped, tied in excruciating positions for days on end, kept awake, starved and having their toenails torn out.
NORTHERN IRELAND
The Compton official inquiry acknowledged that the army hooded suspects, fed them on just bread and water and blasted them with noise.
An Amnesty International report said, "It is because we regard the deliberate destruction of a man's ability to control his own mind with revulsion that we reserve a special place in our catalogue of moral crimes for techniques of thought control and brainwashing. Any interrogation procedure which has the purpose or effect of causing a malfunction or breakdown of a man's mental processes constitutes as grave an assault on the inherent dignity of the human person as more traditional techniques of physical torture."
A European human rights report found that British army techniques amounted to "inhuman and degrading treatment" causing "at least intense physical and mental suffering".

The CIA in Haiti
They have so far resisted CIA attempts to make their countries as poor as Haiti. (Food Sovereignty: Fighting the “creeping coup” in Venezuela )
The CIA likes to control Haiti and that means that people starve and the drugs trade flourishes.
"With food prices rising, Haiti's poorest can't afford even a daily plate of rice, and some take desperate measures to fill their bellies. Charlene, 16 with a 1-month-old son, has come to rely on a traditional Haitian remedy for hunger pangs: cookies made of dried yellow dirt from the country's central plateau." - Poor Haitians resort to eating dirt and AP fails to tell why
MARK WEISBROT wrote in Counterpunch about Haiti ( Mark Weisbrot: The Silence About Haiti's Torment )
According to Weisbrot:
1991 : The leaders of the coup 'were on the CIA payroll'. The death squad that killed thousands of Aristide's supporters between 1991 and 1994 was led by Emmanuel Constant, who told the world on CBS' 60 Minutes that the CIA hired him for the job.
2004 : Jeffrey Sachs of Colombia University said, "The United States turned off the tap... They did that deliberately to bring down Aristide."
The Inter-American Development Bank and World Bank cut off funding from 2001-2003.
The USA gave tens of millions of dollars to the opposition, which included former military personnel - including convicted murderers.
In 2004, US forces reportedly forced Aristide to go to the airport where he boarded a plane to the Central African Republic.
What is Haiti like now?
The Center for the Study of Human Rights at the University of Miami Law School conducted an investigation in Haiti in November 2004.
Among the findings: "summary executions are a police tactic,"
the jails are filled with political prisoners,
many prisoners are held without charge, beaten and denied medical help.
Cite Soleil, a slum of 250,000 people, is under lockdown. Young men cannot leave for fear of arrest.
Dead bodies can be seen in the streets.
TOM REEVES has also written about Haiti (ZNet Haiti Disguised Coup, Hidden Abuses ):
According to Reeves:
When thousands poured out of Bel Aire slum, the Haitian National Police 'opened fire on singing, chanting men, women and children'; five people were killed.
Father Gerard Jean-Juste works among the poor in Haiti. He was seized by Haitian police, wearing hoods, while feeding poor children in his parish last. He was held in deplorable conditions without a trial.
Witnesses have spoken of spoken of massacres of Aristide supporters in several poor Port au Prince neighborhoods. These are have been documented police raids into Aristide strongholds, accompanied by UN troops, resulting in hundreds of deaths of Aristide activists and bystanders
Rep. Maxine Waters, of the Congressional Black Caucus: "Haiti today is in total chaos. The interim government put in power by the U.S...is a complete failure....Human rights violations are commonplace throughout Haiti....(M)embers of President Aristide's government have been detained illegally, including former Prime Minister Yvon Neptune...As of February 18, there were over 700 political prisoners in Haiti's jails...most...without formal charges."
The United States sent marines to Haiti a year ago to force out of office a government that was democratically elected. The self-styled "rebels" committed massacres and rapes across the country, using weapons traced to U.S. stockpiles in the Dominican Republic.
The US installed the puppet regime of Gerard Latortue.
There have been vast cutbacks in the already impoverished education, health and other human services systems of the public sector.
The puppet regime represents the old landed and military elite and the sweat-shop owners and other business elite.
'A full-scale terror campaign is going on in Haiti - by the government, against the people; by the rich, against the poor; by those trained and funded by the U.S. and guarded by the U.N., and against the mass movement called Lavalas - the cleansing flood - that Aristide promised would someday bring justice for the poor of Haiti'.

Emmanuel "Toto" Constant has explained that he worked for the CIA in Haiti.
Haiti militiaman ordered to pay £10m for rapes
Guardian, 27 October 2006
Constant was the leader of Fraph, a rightwing paramilitary group.
He worked against Jean-Bertrand Aristide.
In the USA, in October 2006, Constant was ordered to pay $19m (£10m) in damages to three women who had been gang-raped by members of his militia.
A US district judge Sidney Stein ruled that the women were each entitled to $1.5m in compensatory damages and $5m in punitive damages.
The judge said Constant "founded and oversaw an organisation that was dedicated principally towards terrorising and torturing political opponents..."
Constant is in jail on Long Island awaiting trial on unrelated charges. He told CBS's 60 Minutes in 1995: "If I am guilty of those crimes ... the CIA is also guilty."

The source for the following is:
Francois Emmanuel "Toto" Constant
1991
According to Constant, the US military attaché and the local CIA station chief were inside the Haitian military headquarters when the army staged its coup in '91.
1992
Constant has stated that Col. Patrick Collins, of the U. S. Defense Intelligence Agency, pushed him to organize a front that could balance the Aristide movement and do intelligence work against it. This resulted in Constant forming what evolved into FRAPH in August 1993. Who Will Rid Me of this Turbulent Priest?
1993
From 1993-1994, Constant was the leader of the FRAPH death squad which reportedly murdered hundreds of Haitians...
Constant claims that he was part of covert American policy to undermine the exiled President Aristide, who was viewed as too radical by the United States.
Constant attended, on invitation, the Clinton inauguration balls in 1993....

Lockerbie - 'Deal done to let bomber go home.'
In 2007, Tony Blair signed a Prisoner Transfer Agreement with Libya.
In Scotland, the legal system and prisons are the responsibility of the Scottish government in Edinburgh.
However, international treaties are not the responsibility of the Scottish government.
Reportedly, the London government now believes that the Prisoner Transfer Agreement is an international treaty. (Full story)
This suggests a deal has been done to let al Megrahi return to Libya.
The alleged 'Lockerbie Bomber' al Megrahi is due in a Scottish court on 20 February 2008 as part of his appeal against his conviction.
The full appeal hearing is not likely to be held until later in 2008.
The Scottish government does not want al Megrahi to be involved in the Prisoner Transfer Agreement.
The governments of the US and UK might prefer to send al Megrahi back to Libya as quickly as possible, in order to prevent the full appeal being heard.
At the full appeal there may be testimony which suggest that:
1. The CIA faked the evidence against al Megrahi.
2. The CIA was smuggling heroin on PanAm flights.
3. Agents of the CIA brought down PanAm 103 in order to silence the whistleblower Major Charles McKie, his team and his evidence. (The CIA and the Lockerbie Bomb / aangirfan: Lockerbie, Drugs and the CIA / aangirfan: Lockerbie - new forensic tests suggest evidence was ... / journalists: Lockerbie Truth / aangirfan: Monzer al-Kassar alleged CIA asset)
The Scottish government's First Minister, Alex Salmond has said (Assurance call on bomber transfer) that anyone connected with the Lockerbie atrocity should be excluded specifically from any prisoner transfer agreement.
"Until very recently, that was also the position of the UK Government," said Salmond
Salmond spoke out on Lockerbie after the Financial Times reported that Libya had just ratified a £450m contract with oil company BP, after UK ministers drafted a prisoner transfer agreement that it claimed could cover al Megrahi. (Libya jail swap deal clears way for BP)
It emerged on 3 February 2008 that Libya has now ratified the Prisoner Transfer Agreement and that the agreement now contains no clause excluding al Megrahi. (Row erupts over Lockerbie bomber)

The use of militant Moslems in Russia, China, India & Indonesia.
Reportedly, the CIA likes to make life difficult for countries that are potential rivals, such as Russia, China and Iran.
Reportedly, the CIA follows a policy of divide and rule.
Reportedly the CIA has promoted militant Islam in countries such as Afghanistan and Pakistan.
What about China, Russia, Iran, India and elsewhere?
According to UPI (Analysis: Jihad in Asia), Russia has between 19 million and 22 million Muslims. China has some 20 million Muslims.
Reportedly, militant Moslems want an Islamic Caliphate made up of the Central Asian nations, including the Russian province of Chechnya and the Chinese province of Xinjiang.
Could the CIA be fans of these militant Moslems?
According to the Times of India (Terror camps, Pak flags in Karnataka jungles), "a terrorist camp used by self-proclaimed Islamist fundamentalists has been detected in southern India, where a spate of terror attacks in the last few years, such as the ones in Hyderabad's Mecca mosque and the Indian Institute of Science in Bangalore, have sensitized police to Islamist terrorism."
India is an ally of the USA. But might the CIA want to put pressure on India at certain times?
Moslem Brotherhood leader with Hitler
Perhaps the most important militant Moslem group is the Muslim Brotherhood.
The Muslim Brotherhood is said to have links to MI6 and the CIA.
According to Big Wedding: Chapter Nine:
"According to the (Washington) Post, the CIA relies on the (Muslim) Brotherhood for intelligence.
"'Mastermind of Terror' Khalid Sheikh Mohammed joined the Muslim Brotherhood at age sixteen. Mohammed Atta's father is a member...
"...the CIA is reporting favorable things about the group via the willing vessel of the Washington Post.
"(The) Muslim Brotherhood is also the financial and organizational backbone of not only Al Qaeda, but also Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad...
"...Muslim Brother Ramzi Yousef started planning 9/11 in 1993."
Indonesia provides a good example of how militant Moslem groups are apparently used by the CIA and its friends.
There have been a number of 'Islamic terror groups' in Indonesia.
They all seem to be linked to the military: MI6 or the CIA or American trained generals.
In The Age, (We must not get back in bed with Kopassus - theage.com.au), Dr Damien Kingsbury, head of philosophical, political and international studies at Deakin University, wrote about Moslem militants in Indonesia and their links to the military.
1. Komando Jihad, which became Jemaah Islamiah - was set up by (American trained) Indonesian generals.
Dr Kingsbury wrote: "Kopassus (Indonesian special forces)... has engaged in... hostage rescue missions. The first was in 1981, when a Garuda aircraft was hijacked.... Kopassus... set up the Islamic organisation Komando Jihad that hijacked the plane in 1981 and which has since emerged as Jemaah Islamiah."
2. Laskar Jihad - was set up by (American trained) generals.
Jakarta human-rights activist Bonar Naipospos told Asia Times Online:
"General Suparman is one of the generals who was behind the extremist Jihad groups. He set up militias composed of gangsters and religious fanatics to counter student demonstrations in 1998. One of these militias, Pram Swarkasa, became the embryo of Laskar Jihad." (Asia Times We must not get back in bed with Kopassus - theage.com.au)
We should also note that:
3. Bali bomb 'mastermind' Al Faruq - 'worked for the CIA.'
Former Indonesian State Intelligence Coordinating Board (BAKIN) chief A.C. Manulang was quoted by Tempo magazine as suggesting that Al-Farouq was a CIA-recruited agent.
According to a news story in the Sydney Morning Herald, November 2, 2002:
"Some time around the 30 October 2002, senior officers in the Indonesian military HQ gave a piece of information to a military attache from a Western embassy in Indonesia -the source of explosive used in the October 12 bombing in Bali was the head of the counter-terrorism unit with the army's special forces."
The father-in-law of the officer concerned is Hendropriyono, Indonesia's spy chief.
Kuwaiti citizen Omar Al Faruq was arrested in Bogor on June 5, 2002 and handed over to US authorities. Al Faruq was able to escape from custody.
The airline manifest of Garuda airlines shows that at least two generals from Jakarta visited Bali three days before the bombings and that they returned to Jakarta one day before the Sari Club was blown up. This was confirmed by armed forces chief General Sutarto, who claimed that General Djaja Suparman was on vacation, while General Ryamizard Riyacudu, chief of staff, was said to have gone to Bali for health reasons. (Jakarta Post)
4. Islamic guerrillas in the 1960s - were supported by Britain's MI6
The following is from The Independent (UK):
"Cabinet papers show that British spies, including MI6, supported Islamic guerrillas in order to destabilise Sukarno." (Revealed: Healey admits role in British dirty tricks campaign to overthrow Indonesia's President Sukarno, By Paul Lashmar and James Oliver, The Independent - 16 April 2000) The Secret State: MI5 (Home Office/MoD), The Security Service and ...
The following is taken from The British, Muslim Terrorism and September 11
Prior to World War II British Intelligence cultivated ties with the (Muslim) Brotherhood through agent Freya Stark, the British adventurer and writer (A Brutal Friendship - The West and the Arab Elite, Said K. Aburish, 1997) ... The Muslim Brotherhood spread throughout the Muslim world and has evolved into something like a Muslim equivalent of the West's Masonic brotherhood. It became one of the first Islamic Fundamentalist terror organizations...
"According to CIA agent Miles Copeland, the Americans began looking for a Muslim Billy Graham around 1955... When finding or creating a Muslim Billy Graham proved elusive, the CIA began to cooperate with the Muslim Brotherhood, the Muslim mass organization founded in Egypt but with followers throughout the Arab Middle East... This signalled the beginning of an alliance between the traditional regimes and mass Islamic movements against Nasser and other secular forces." (A Brutal Friendship - The West and the Arab Elite, Said K. Aburish, 1997)
The CIA was following the example of British Intelligence and sought to use Islam to further its goals. They wanted to find a charismatic religious leader that they could promote and control and they began to cooperate with groups such as the Muslim Brotherhood. With the rise of Nasser the Brotherhood was also courted more seriously by the pro-Western Arab regimes of Saudi Arabia and Jordan. They needed all the popular support that they could muster against the rise of Nasser-inspired Arab nationalism to keep their regimes intact.
The Muslim Brotherhood was an obvious ally against Nasser, because he had abolished it from Egypt after it was involved in a failed assassination attempt on his life in 1954. The Brotherhood rejected Nasser's policy that, for the most part, kept religion out of politics. Officially the Brotherhood was an outlawed organization, but it remained influential and active within Egypt working against the secular regime, often hand-in-hand with British Intelligence. In June of 1955 MI6 was already approaching the Brotherhood in Syria to agitate against the new government that showed strong left-wing tendencies and a desire to merge with Egypt. The Brotherhood became an even more important asset after Nasser announced the Egyptian takeover of the Suez...
In Syria, in 1982, there was a major conflict between the Muslim Brotherhood and the Syrian government at the city of Hamma that resulted in 20,000 casualties. In the aftermath Syria's President Asad revealed that the Muslim Brotherhood forces were armed with US-made equipment...
Israel, forever inclined to back divisive movements, surfaced as another supporter of Islam and began to fund the Muslim Brotherhood and the Palestinian Islamic movement Hamas.
The most noteworthy success of the Islamic movement during this time was of course the overthrow of the Shah of Iran and the installation of the Ayatollah Khomeini as the Islamic dictator. British Intelligence had used their contacts with Iran's mullahs and ayatollahs to help overthrow Mossadegh and install the Shah back in 1953, and these contacts were maintained and used again to overthrow the Shah when his regime fell out of favor.
The Establishment history of Iran's Islamic Revolution is that Khomeini's revolt was spontaneous and populist, and that it overthrew a repressive dictatorship that was hated by the people but supported wholeheartedly by the United States. It is true that the Shah's government was not a democracy and that his secret service, trained by the CIA, was one of the most effective intelligence organizations in the world. But what is not reported is that prior to the British-sponsored massive public relations campaign on behalf of the Ayatollah the government of the Shah was loved by the vast majority of the population.
After taking over from Mossadegh the Shah began to push forward a number of nationalist policies that increased his popularity at home but, in some cases, worried the Anglo-American Establishment. First, he signed petroleum agreements with ENI, the Italian oil company. Then in 1963 he pushed forward on a series of popular reforms that became known as the White Revolution. The Shah evolved into a nationalist whose path paralleled that of Nasser far too much for the Establishment's liking:
- He bought land from the upper classes and, along with the crown's own land, sold it back cheaply to tenant farmers, allowing over one a half million people to become land owners and ending the old feudal system.
- He allowed women the right to vote, and brought an end to the wearing of the veil, which were "Westernizing" moves unwelcomed by the religious sector.
- He pushed forward on a $90 billion nuclear power program.
- He moved to shut down the lucrative opium industry that had been created during the days of British Empire control that had been running for a hundred years...(http://www.sedona.net/pahlavi/mrp.html and http://www.cbc.ca/news/indepth/iran/iran2.html)
In 1973 The Economist magazine featured Iran on the front cover with the caption: "Iran the Next Japan of the Middle East?" Iran's economy had grown at a rate of 7-8% each year from 1965-1973 and was becoming an example for the developing nations of the world to follow. As far as the Anglo-American Establishment was concerned this could not be allowed to continue.
The attack on the Shah's government came through the Muslim Brotherhood and through the mullahs and ayatollahs of Iran, supported and manipulated by British Intelligence...
Dr. John Coleman, a former British Intelligence agent... states in his report on Iran's Islamic Revolution that the Muslim Brotherhood was created by "the great names of British Middle East intelligence" ...and that their mission was to "keep the Middle East backward so that its natural resource, oil, could continue to be looted..."
Dr. Coleman writes that in 1980 the broadcasts of Radio Free Iran divided the enemies of the Shah into four categories: 1. Iranian politicians bought by the Israeli Shin Bet, 2. The CIA's network of agents, 3. The feudal landowners, 4. The Freemasons and the Muslim Brotherhood (viewed as the same enemy).
In his report Dr. Coleman writes that in Iran, "At one time there was even a joke about the mullahs being stamped 'made in Britain.'" When the Shah introduced his plan for modernization in 1963 the Ayatollah Khomeini emerged as the leader of the religious opposition. Up until his exile from Iran in 1964, Khomeini was based at the religious city of Qom. Dr. Coleman relates that Radio Free Iran claimed that while at Qom Khomeini received a "monthly stipend from the British, and he is in constant contact with his masters, the British."

PLOTS IN CYPRUS
Britain has two important military bases on Cyprus.
The operation of these bases was guaranteed in the Cypriot constitution, when Cyprus became independent in 1960.
Most of the Greek Cypriots want to be rid of these bases.
In October 2007, Britain signed an agreement with Turkey, the 'enemy' of the Greek Cypriots.
This agreement is about:
1. Supporting Turkey’s EU accession
2. Helping to end the isolation of the Turkish Cypriots
3. Deepening the UK-Turkey defence relationship, including within the framework of NATO.
According to the Associated Press, 25 January 2008 (Status of British military basis in Cyprus to be reconsidered ...):
"The Greek Cypriot government is reconsidering the status of two British military bases on the island, saying Britain implicitly recognized the Turkish Cypriot administration in the north in an agreement signed with Ankara.
"Greek Cypriot Government Spokesman Vasilis Palmas said... that relations with Britain were being reconsidered 'through a different prism.'
"'We are reconsidering our bilateral relations,' he said, after Britain signed an agreement with Turkey on Oct. 23 that referred to the north as the "TRNC" which stands for the Turkish Republic of northern Cyprus..."
However, Cyprus is aware that Britain is its biggest trading partner, and roughly half of the 2.4 million people who visit Cyprus each year are British.
The Americans take a very strong interest in Cyprus.
In the early 1970s, Greece was run by the 'fascist' colonels who, reportedly, had been put into power by the CIA.
In Turkey, the people who pulled the strings were, reportedly, the pro-American military.
A number of books refer to a 1974 Cyprus plot involving the USA:
The Aphrodite Plot by Michael Jansen 1976, The Cyprus Conspiracy: America, Espionage and the Turkish Invasion by Brendan O'Malley and Ian Craig (published by I.B. Taurus), The Rape of Greece by Peter Murtagh, and The Wrong Horse by Lawrence Stern.
According to Michael Jansen, at http://www.greece.org/cyprus/Takism6.htm :
A deal was discussed by Greek and Turkish ministers in the early 1970s.
According to this deal:
1. Cyprus would be split.
2. A Turkish military base would be set up on Cyprus, on the Karpass Peninsula.
3. The mainly Greek part of the Island would join up with Greece.
The USA was apparently involved in what was happening.
The U.S. wanted rid of Makarios, the President of Cyprus.
Makarios was seen as being too independent minded; he had left-wing allies; he was a friend of the Arabs; he was opposed to the 'fascist' colonels who ran Greece and who were regarded as CIA assets.
According to Peter Murtagh, the Greek colonels in Athens had allowed Israeli planes to use a U.S. base in Crete to launch the air strikes on Egyptian, Jordanian and Syrian air fields that 'decided the outcome of the 1967 war' before Arab and Israeli troops came together on the ground.
According to Jansen: the USA wanted its Greek and Turkish allies in control of Cyprus.
Reportedly, by late 1973, the Greek and Turkish Cypriots were becoming more friendly with each other. They had decided to keep Cyprus united.
Reportedly, Greece and Turkey tried to wreck things.
In July 1974 Greece organised a coup against Makarios. Nicos Sampson became president.
Turkey decided to carry out its plan to split Cyprus. Turkish troops took over the North of Cyprus in 1974. It is thought that the USA supported the invasion.
According to the Cyprus Mail, 13 November 1999, and the Times Higher Education Supplement, the USA vetoed any British intervention in Cyprus.
The USA "vetoed Britain's intervention in the Turkish invasion to protect its spying bases in northern Cyprus, former British Prime Minister Lord Callaghan has revealed in an interview to a British paper."
The US has electronic spying facilities in northern Cyprus.
Callaghan was interviewed for the Times by Brendan O'Malley, co-author with Ian Craig of The Cyprus Conspiracy: American Espionage and the Turkish Invasion.
"Cyprus had extreme value as a centre for electronic surveillance," Callaghan said.
According to a report in the 6 March 6 2004 edition of the Beirut Daily Star, the USA would like its troops stationed on Cyprus. ( http://www.greenleft.org.au/back/2004/585/585p19.htm )
The UK and the US have had intelligence bases on Cyprus for many years. They have sophisticated surveillance equipment on top of Mount Troodos. The USA has its listening post in Northern Cyprus.
According to Greece's Daily Times, the USA has studied the possibility of "sending a military force to Cyprus, in the form of a peacekeeping force".
