Al-Faqih said people close to the king had uncovered Bandar's plots and foiled them.
He said Saudi sources believe that intelligence provided by certain Arab countries helped the Saudi monarch foil Prince Bandar's conspiracy.

Al Yamamah
According to Wikipedia, Bandar helped negotiate the 1985 Al Yamamah deal, a series of massive arms sales by the United Kingdom to Saudi Arabia worth GB£40 billion (US$80 billion), including the sale of more than 100 warplanes.
After the deal was signed, British arms manufacturer British Aerospace (now BAE Systems) allegedly funnelled secret payments of at least GB£1 billion (US$2 billion) into two Saudi embassy accounts in Washington, in yearly instalments of up to GB£120 million (US$240 million) over at least 10 years.
Bandar allegedly took money for personal use out of the accounts, as the purpose of one of the accounts was to pay the operating expenses of the prince's private Airbus A340.

In May 2007 it was revealed that Tesco had moved the head office of its online operations to the tax haven of Switzerland.
In February 2008 a six month investigation by The Guardian revealed that Tesco has developed a complex taxation structure involving offshore bank accounts in the tax haven of theCayman Islands.[31]
Tesco is in the process of selling its UK stores, worth an estimated £6 billion, to Cayman Island based companies set up by Tesco. These companies then lease the stores back to Tesco.
This arrangement enables Tesco to avoid an estimated £1 billion tax on profits from the property sales, and also to avoid paying any tax on continuing operation of the stores, as the rate of corporation tax in the Cayman Islands is zero.

"Indonesian military elements were prepared to cause massive casualties and huge economic disruption in their own capital for the purposes of elite-level politics."
On 7 November 2002, Tom Fawthrop, at Asia Times, reported on the Indonesian military's links to terror:
"The highly politicized Indonesian military, trained in waging terror during more than 30 years of General Suharto's dictatorship, are among the suspects in last month's Bali bombing, according to a respected Indonesian commentator."
Wimar Witoelar, former spokesman for ex-president Abdurrahman Wahid, said "the plot is probably hatched by hardline military rogues. This is certainly an excuse for a military takeover unless it is preempted."
The militant Moslem organisations Jemaah Islamiyah and Laskar Jihad both have links with Indonesian generals.
According to Australian academic Dr Greg Barton, certain Indonesian generals use the various Islamist militias for their own purposes.
Barton says (Asia Times): "In early 2000, when President Wahid sacked General Wiranto over the East Timor post-ballot massacres and began to push hard for profound reforms within the military, non-Islamist, nationalist generals joined forces with generals known to be religious hardliners to use radical Islamist militia to destabilize the Wahid administration."
Members of the Cokar, an Ambon militia, admitted they had been trained and funded by Kopassus (Asia Times).

Many of Suharto's top generals remain in leadership positions.
President Yudhoyono and his two main political rivals, Prabowo and Wiranto, are all former Suharto generals.
Who carried out the Bali Bombing, which incidentally helped General Yudhoyono to come to power?
The airline manifest of Garuda has confirmed that at least two military generals from Jakarta happened to visit Bali just three days before the bombings and that they returned to Jakarta just one day before the Sari Club was blown up. (Asia Times)
The two generals were General Djaja Suparman and General Ryamizard Riyacudu.
Jakarta human-rights activist Bonar Naipospos told Asia Times Online: "General Suparman is one of the generals who was behind the extremist Jihad groups. He set up militias composed of gangsters and religious fanatics to counter student demonstrations in 1998. One of these militias, Pram Swarkasa, became the embryo of Laskar Jihad."
Bonar Naipospos commented to Asia Times Online: "I believe the military is involved in the bombing, but I fear the Bali police chief is in a difficult position and they will not follow leads to high-ranking people."

Milo's ancestor, the homophobic and possibly gay ninth Marquess, invented the Queensberry Rules of boxing in the 19th century and began criminal proceedings against the gay Oscar Wilde.
Wilde was jailed for having a gay affair with the ninth Marquess's son - the gay Bosie, Lord Alfred Douglas.
Milo's stepsister Carrie Carey married two of Osama Bin Laden's brothers - Salem Bin Laden, and after Salem died in an air crash in 1988, Khaled bin Laden.
A recent biography of Oscar Wilde claims that Wilde's trial and imprisonment was a cover up for a gay affair between the UK Prime Minister, the Earl of Rosebery, and Viscount Drumlanrig.
The Secret Life of Oscar Wilde, by Neil McKenna, suggests that the prime minister, the Earl of Rosebery, had a gay relationship for over two years with Viscount Drumlanrig, the older brother of Wilde’s own lover, Lord Alfred Douglas.
McKenna told the Sunday Times that, “Oscar was sacrificed to save Rosebery and the Liberals.”
The book says that the Marquess of Queensbury, the father of Drumlanrig and Douglas, was so furious that both his sons were gay that he threatened to reveal the PM’s own homosexuality.
Wilde’s trial was rushed through in order to “buy off” Queensbury and save the PM’s reputation, although Queensbury later called him “a Jew nancy boy” and “that bloody bugger”.
The book also suggests that the relationship between Rosebery and Drumlanrig was instrumental to Drumlanrig being made the PM`s private secretary and eventually a Lord.
The Sunday Times quotes Philip Hoare, who has himself written a biography on Wilde, as saying that McKenna’s theory was realistic, as he believed Wilde had been a political pawn. “The Liberals saw Wilde, as it were, taking all this decadence to the suburbs. They needed to stop it.”
It also mentions Wilde’s grandson, Merlin Holland opinion that “Queensbury had lost one son to this ‘unmentionable vice’ and didn’t want another lost.”
