Guinness began in the brewery of Arthur Guinness (1725–1803) in Dublin.

It is now owned by the controversial multi-national conglomerate named Diageo.

On 9 May 2008, Diageo announced that breweries in Kilkenny and Dundalk will be closed by 2013.

In September 2009, a court heard that during a flight from India to the UK, Clare Irby, a descendant of the Guinness family had allegedly got drunk, bragged about taking opium, called one crew member a 'bitch' and tossed aside a soiled nappy.

An oversight by the UK's controversial Crown Prosecution Service meant that Irby walked free from the court. (Toff cleared of jet booze charge)

From The Independent on Sunday, 20 September 2009, (Happy birthday Guinness! The Black Stuff at 250.), and other sources, we learn:

1. Three of Arthur Guinness's grandchildren became alcoholics.

2. The third Arthur Guinness was gay and had a brief affair with the young playwright, Dion Boucicault.

The fourth Arthur Guinness (Lord Ardilaun) was probably gay.

He was member of parliament for Dublin in London's House of Commons.

A court case revealed voter bribery (£5 a vote) by his agents.

3. In 1929, Bryan Guinness married Diana Mitford.

5. In 1966, Tara Browne, the 21-year-old son of Oonagh Guinness, died when he crashed his car.

6. Tara's sister, Tessa, died of an asthma attack aged 14.

7. Prince Frederick of Prussia was married to Lady Brigid Guinness. In 1966 Prince frederick drowned.

8. In 1954, Norris and Ross McWhirter were commissioned to compile what became The Guinness Book of Records.

According to The Observer (4 September 1977) Ross McWhirter had close links to G. K.Young, ex Deputy Director of MI6.

In 1975, Ross McWhirter was murdered by the IRA.

9. In 1978, Lady Henrietta Guinness jumped to her death off an aqueduct in Italy.

10. In 1978 four-year-old Peter Guinness died in a car crash.

11. In 1978 Major Denys Guinness died of a drugs overdose.

12. In 1986 Olivia Channon, aged 22, great-granddaughter of Rupert Guinness, died of a drugs overdose.

13. In 1986, Jennifer, the wife of the banker John Guinness, was kidnapped in Dublin.

14. In 1988, Sheridan Hamilton-Temple-Blackwood, son of Maureen Guinness, died of an Aids-related illness in 1988.

15. In 1986, John Guinness died when he fell off Mount Snowdon.

16. In 2004, Robert Hesketh, the husband of Catherine Guinness, died after taking heroin, cocaine and alcohol.

The Guinness share-trading fraud was a famous scandal of the 1980s.

It involved an attempt to manipulate the stock market on a massive scale to inflate the price of Guinness shares and thus assist a £2.7 billion take-over bid for the Scottish drinks company Distillers.

A top British Jew called Gerald Ronson became known in the UK as one of the 'Guinness Four' for his part in the Guinness share-trading fraud along with Ernest Saunders and business associates Jack Lyons and Anthony Parnes.

Catli has links to terrorism, gangsterism and Chicago in the USA.

In the summer of 2001, 4 months before 9 11, the FBI's monitoring of Turkish agents revealed Turkish contacts with Feith, Wolfowitz, and Perle.

These people had discussions with the Turkish ambassador in Washington.

The subject of the discussions was a deal whereby the U.S. would invade Iraq.

According to Interpol, "Turkey is a major staging area and transportation route for heroin destined for European markets."[37]

Reportedly, members of the Turkish military and police are members of drug gangs.

Sometimes there is gang warfare.

The CIA and its friends in NATO are reported to have used 'terrorist' gangs in order to keep the 'right wing' in power in Europe, including Turkey.

In 1996, a car crashed in the town of Susurluk, in Turkey.

The car contained a top police chief and a top politician.

The car also contained a man called Abdullah Çatli, who was a drug trafficker and contract killer with links to fascism and the CIA's Operation Gladio.

In 1998 the magazine Monde Diplomatique alleged that Abdullah Çatli organized the 1981 attempt to assassinate the Pope, "in exchange for the sum of 3 million German mark"

In 1989, Catli was on Interpol's 'most wanted' list.

In 1989, Catli was able to travel to the USA, be granted residency, settle in Chicago, and continued to conduct his operations.

According to Cengiz Candar, "Susurluk revealed weird connections between state officials and those who operate outside the limits of the law. It happened at a time when we had a lot of extra-judicial killings in Turkey."

Sibel Edmonds

Sibel Edmonds, as a translator for the FBI, translated recordings of conversations between suspected Turkish intelligence agents and various Americans.

She was concerned that one of her fellow translators, Can Dickerson, was a member of the American-Turkish Council, a Turkish group being investigated for:

A. Bribing top government officials and members of Congress
B. Drug trafficking
C. Illegal weapons sales
D. Money laundering
E. Nuclear proliferation.

Sibel was sacked from the FBI in April 2002 after she raised her concerns.

She was shocked that no effort was made to deal with the corruption that she had come across.

A Department of Justice inspector general's report called Edmonds's allegations 'credible.'

Two ranking Senate Judiciary Committee members backed her.

'60 Minutes' found her claims believable.

John Ashcroft's Justice Department gagged her.

In August 2009, she was able to testify under oath in a court case in Ohio.

Marc Grossman

The 1 November 2009 Issue of The American Conservative has an article entitled: Who's Afraid of Sibel Edmonds?

This article covers the evidence Edmonds gave in court in August 2009.

Among the points made:

1. Members of Congress and US government employees were giving information to foreign agents. Sibel Edmonds provided names and details.

One person identified was Marc Grossman, then the third highest-ranking official at the State Department.

While Grossman had been U.S. ambassador to Turkey (1994-97), he reportedly became involved with Turkish government operatives and with suspected criminal groups.

He also had 'suspicious' contact with Israelis.

Reportedly, Grossman was involved in the 'Susurluk' scandal which involved top criminals and top army and intelligence officers with whom he had been in contact.

The gangster who was killed in the 1996 Susurluk scandal was Abdullah Catli.

Catli was on Interpol's 'most wanted' list.

But Catli, in 1989, was able to travel to the USA, be granted residency, settle in Chicago, and continued to conduct his operations.

Air Force Major Douglas Dickerson worked for Grossman in Turkey. Later he went to work for Douglas Feith; and his wife Can Dickerson was hired as an FBI Turkish translator.

2. According to Edmonds:

A. Grossman, at the State Department, continued to assist his Turkish and Israeli contacts.

B. Grossman helped certain people to gain access to members of Congress such as Tom Lantos.

C. Israel, Turkey and Pakistan ended up receiving US defence information.

3. According to Edmonds:

A. officials at the Pentagon, such as Richard Perle and Douglas Feith, were also involved.

B. Perle and Feith would give to Grossman the names and personal details of certain officials in the Pentagon.

C. Grossman was being paid for his services.

D. Feith and Perle had a relationship with Kissinger's group, with Northrop Grumman, with former secretary of state James Baker's group, and with former national security adviser Brent Scowcroft.

4. According to Edmonds:

5. According to Edmonds:

Turkish agents had a network of Turkish professors in US universities.

Turkish students would be placed in various US nuclear facilities and some were able to work for the US Air Force.

Grossman could ensure security clearance.

Information gained by the students could be sold for example to the Saudis.

6. This corruption also involved Congress.

According to Edmonds:

The FBI was looking at Bob Livingston, Dan Burton, Dennis Hastert, Tom Lantos and Jan Schakowsky.

Turkish agents found out that Jan Schakowsky was bisexual.

A Turkish agent began a relationship with her.

7. Edmonds saw conversations that suggested US agents were supporting al-Qaeda in central Asia and the Balkans, and that this contact continued until 9/11.

According to Edmonds:

These conversations, between 1997 and 2001, involved various bin Ladens, managed by US agents.

Marc Grossman was in charge.

Various bin Ladens, plus guns and drugs, travelled on NATO planes.

NATO planes took some of the drugs to Belgium. Drugs then went to the UK.

A lot of drugs were transported on military planes to the USA.

8. According to Edmonds, corrupt Chicago is central to Obama's administration.

The Turkish criminals have Chicago as the centre of their operation.

When a boy is very sick he needs intensive care in a good hospital.

Some kids in the UK are very sick in terms of their behaviour.

But they are not getting intensive care.

Too often, Britain's schools, media and criminal justice system seem to be very sick indeed.

Too often, these institutions appear to be run by fools and crooks.

Many UK families seem sick.

On 19 September the Daily Mail had a report entitled: Feral youths: How a generation of violent, illiterate young men are living outside the boundaries of civilised society

Here are some of the points from the article:

1. According to the head of Scotland Yard's Violent Crime directorate, 'Serious youth violence is the biggest problem we have today...'

The number of violent crimes carried out by children and teenagers has increased by a third over a period of three years.

2. Many UK kids can barely read and write.

63% of white boys from low-income families are unable to read and write properly at 14.

54% of black boys from low income families cannot read or write properly at 14.

A black car mechanic, in his 50s, said: 'Back in the Caribbean, we were taught the three Rs, but that's gone out of the window. After that, everything breaks down.'

When the mechanic left school, he could pick from a range of factory jobs and apprenticeships. All gone now, he said.

In recent decades, the UK has closed down a lot of manufacturing industry.

And there has been a growth of immigration.

This has particularly affected white and black Caribbean boys from poor backgrounds.

Call centres, and other service sector jobs, require personal and social skills.

3. Fifteen year old Tuggy Tug has a young single mother.

She never disciplined him because he was ' bringing home the bacon' - up to £200 a day from running errands for older drug dealers.

On 21 September 2009, the Daily Mail had a Machetes by the door, drugs on the table - and mothers paid by the state to have babies with men they barely know. What HAVE we done to the British family?

Here are some points from the Mail:

1. In the UK, mothers are 'paid by the state to have babies with men they barely know.'

2. Britain has the highest rate of teenage pregnancy in Europe, with 90% of births occurring outside marriage.

3. Babies born to teenage mothers are 60% more likely to die in their first year, compared with those born to other parents.

4. 72% of children born to single mothers of any age will grow up in poverty.

5. More than a quarter of British children are now raised in single-parent families - and nine out of ten of them are headed by women.

6. According to research by the Joseph Rowntree Foundation, Children with one parent, are more likely to have behavioural problems, to do less well at school, have sex earlier, suffer from depression and turn to drugs and heavy drinking.

According to evidence from the U.S., they are more likely to get involved with gangs and crime.

7. Four out of ten of these children will have no contact at all with their fathers by the age of three. For many boys, their first experience of spending any significant time with adult males is when they enter prison.

On 22 September, the Daily Mail had an article entitled: Lazy, illiterate teachers, cynical heads who have given up, and pupils who treat them with contempt.

Here are some of the points:

1. What is going wrong in primary schools?

A school inspector remarked: 'The child is put in a corner, surrounded by books and assumed to be able to read by osmosis.'

2. At most primary schools, children sit at tables scattered about the classroom. And they chat. There is an element of chaos.

The typical primary schools tends not to give intensive care to children who have not learnt to read or write.

3. At age 14, Darren was barely able to read and write.

He, and nine of his school chums, got involved in trashing bus shelters, stealing and selling cocaine.

Half the time, the police would let them go; otherwise they usually got away with a £50 fine.

Now Darren lives on benefits, despite being obviously bright.

Two of of his school chums are dead - one committed suicide in prison and the other smashed a stolen car into a bus shelter at 80mph.

Two are serving long prison sentences - one for stabbing someone in the neck.

The fifth is a 'very bad' alcoholic.

Three control the drug scene in the town.

Darren's closest friend, a gifted football player, is homeless and hooked on crack.

The Partai Aceh-dominated parliament convenes in October 2009.

In September 2009, the old Aceh parliament expanded Islamic Law so that people can be stoned to death.

The draft law came from the office of Governor Irwandi Yusuf, a US-educated vet.

The new laws include multiple public lashings for those having pre-marital sex.

Aceh has had a form of sharia since 2002.

A sharia police force has been created.

The latest expansion of Islamic law could be overturned by Indonesia's home affairs minister and the national parliament.

Jakartass refers to legislators trying to "foist their largely unwanted agenda on the electorate. The most notorious example has to be that of the Aceh regional government which believes that stoning adulterers will eradicate sexual 'deviants' and caning will cure homosexuals (even though sado-masochism is, for some, a form of sexual deviancy.)

In 1998, there was the possibility that Indonesia would change its government and become a democracy like Malaysia, where there is no miserable poverty.

Unfortunately, Indonesia's American-trained military hijacked the 1998 protest movement.

The May 1998 riots which toppled Suharto were organised by the military; certain Chinese people were made the scapegoats for all of Indonesia's problems; most of the old elite, consisting of generals, Chinese-Indonesian businessmen, religious leaders and politicians, remained in power; certain factions within the elite lost out.

Now sections of the elite are using Islam to frustrate democracy.

However, in the 9 April 2009 elections, the party came fourth with only 7.9 percent of the votes.

The PKS has formed an alliance with Indonesia's president Yudhoyono, a former Suharto general.

Why might the CIA be helping the PKS?

A Saudi-style Indonesia will have no love for China, and may side with the USA in countering it.

An independent-minded democratic Indonesia might not side with the USA.

MOSSAD IN AFRICA, 'AIDED BY THE CIA AND AMERICAN TRADE UNIONS'

According to an article in Haaretz, secret funding from the CIA was channeled by American trade unions to Israel's labor federation to finance, among other things, the posting of Mossad agents in African states.

On 14 september 2009, there was a news story entitled: Israel eyes big arms sales in Africa

Israeli Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman has recently visited Ethiopia, Kenya, Nigeria, Ghana and Uganda.

According to an 'Israeli intelligence specialist', this is about building up intelligence links and selling arms.

Israeli officials are hoping for African arms contracts worth hundreds of millions of dollars.

Yossi Melman, an expert on Israel's security services, wrote in Haaretz that the "less publicized" aspect of the tour was boosting "defense exports," such as the arms deals worth $500 million that Israel has signed with Nigeria in recent years.

Melman wrote that an "even more secretive" goal was "the hope of developing intelligence ties and cooperation in the effort against ...Iran..."



Israeli intelligence has operated in Africa for many years.

Israelis have been active in training Africa armies, with weapons sold by Israel.

Melman wrote: "Secret funding from the United States Central Intelligence Agency was channeled by American trade unions to (Israel's) Histadrut labor federation …to finance various activities.

"Among other things, the money was used to post an impressive array of Mossad agents in the African states."

These activities, Melman wrote, "gave Mossad agents and Israeli Defense Forces officers an excuse to be involved in the internal affairs of African regimes."

Israelis were reportedly involved in military coups in Uganda and Zanzibar.

Israeli agents operate in countries such as Ethiopia, Kenya and Sudan.

Ethiopia and Sudan control the Red Sea shipping lanes to Eilat.

The Israelis have close intelligence links with Ethiopia, which is currently propping up the government in Somalia.

In September 2009, John Terry was murdered.

One acquaintance gave Terry the nickname ‘Lionel Blair’.

Terry lived in a simple farmhouse in Mount Carey, a poor village containing shanty bars.

Terry, who was twice married, was rather a camp character.

He liked to pick up young West Indian males for casual sex.

He had numerous male lovers.

One of these was Desmond, whom Terry met on a beach when Desmond was 16.

When Terry was murdered, the killer left a note referring to Terry as a ‘Batty Boy’, a term meaning gay.

Two other homosexuals, a politician and a priest, were also recently murdered.

The founder of Jamaica’s gay rights lobby was stabbed to death five years ago.

Several reggae stars have produced homophobic lyrics inciting violence against gays.

John Terry was from a military family. His grandfather won the VC for bravery in the Zulu War.

His father, Charles Terry, was an RAF squadron leader.

His older brother, Peter, 67, is a retired army major.

In his mid- 20s John Terry got a job in a top hotel on the western tip of gay Jamaica.

This hotel was favoured by stars such as Harrison Ford, Ralph Lauren and David Bowie.

John Terry gave a lot of time to supporting charities, and helping people.

The Jamaicans appointed him as a Justice of the Peace, and this meant that he came in contact with a lot of Jamaicans.

His neighbours might not questioned why he sometimes came home in the evening accompanied by a young male.

According to Desmond, John Terry was part of a group of wealthy, white expats in Montego Bay who like the company of young Jamaican boyfriends, or 'coconut Rastas'.

The expats meet these young males at gay pick-up haunts, such as beaches and bars.

Occasionally, the white ‘sugar daddies’ go to the Hip Strip, where there are male prostitutes.

Jamaica is dangerous.

Jamaica has around 1,600 murders a year.

In March, 2008, expat Briton, Barbara Scott-Jones, 61, was murdered in the hills above Montego Bay, allegedly by her former boyfriend.

1. Within hours of PanAm 103 coming down over Lockerbie, "the countryside around Lockerbie was occupied."

The countryside "was dotted with unidentified Americans not under the command of the local police."

"Scores of men, some wearing no insignia, some the insignia of the FBI ...invaded the area.

"Lockerbie residents reported seeing unmarked helicopters hovering overhead, carrying men with rifles whose telescopic sights were pointing directly at them...

"The suitcase belonging to Major McKee (a CIA operative flying back to the US to report on his concern that the couriering of drugs was being officially condoned...) was found to have had a hole cut in its side after the explosion.

"A second suitcase, opened by a Scottish farmer, contained packets of white powder which a local police officer told him was undoubtedly heroin."

2. "The integrity of the crime scene was violated ... outsiders were conducting a desperate search for wreckage that it was important for them to find and spirit away."

3. Some people had warnings.

"The staff of the American Embassy in Moscow, who usually travelled by Pan Am when they returned to the US for Christmas, used a different airline."

4. In 1989 The Sunday Times "stated categorically that the bombing had been carried out by the German PFLP-GC cell led by Dalkamoni under orders from Ahmad Jibril and with a bomb made by Khreesat."

5. The bomb was supposed to have been put onto a plane in Malta.

"If the intended target was an American aircraft, why risk a premature explosion triggered by the barometric switch by putting the suitcase on an Air Malta flight?

"The scientific underpinning necessary to support a counter-proposition was established during 1989 and 1990 and rested on two ‘discoveries’: a fragment of an entirely different type of timer in the remnant of a shirt collar and the matching of that fragment with the manufacturer’s prototype.

"This timer, it was argued, could, once set, keep a barometric switch from detonating for days.

6. "The centre of the Lockerbie investigation ... ceased to be Scotland: the CIA was in charge.

"Vincent Cannistraro had made his mark under Ronald Reagan, with a clandestine programme to destabilise the Libyan regime.

"He boasted that he ‘developed the policy towards Libya’ which culminated in the bombing of Gaddafi’s house in Tripoli in 1986 on the basis of intercept evidence later acknowledged to be false.

"Now brought out of retirement, Cannistraro shifted the (Lockerbie) investigation’s approach."

7. "Al-Megrahi’s conviction was in large part based on the evidence of scientists (Thomas Thurman and others) whose value as professional witnesses had been permanently and publicly demolished ten years before his trial..."

8. A key witness was Mr Bollier.

"Dr Köchler, the UN’s observer throughout the trial, recorded that Bollier had been ‘brusquely interrupted’ by the presiding judge when he attempted to raise the issue of the possible manipulation of the timer fragments.

"Could the MEBO board, or a part of one, have been planted in such a way that it could be conveniently ‘discovered’?

"After the trial, new evidence that would have been at the centre of al-Megrahi’s now abandoned appeal made this suggestion more credible: a Swiss electronics engineer called Ulrich Lumpert, formerly employed by Bollier’s firm, stated in an affidavit to Köchler that in 1989 he stole a ‘non-operational’ timing board from MEBO and handed it to ‘a person officially investigating in the Lockerbie case’.

"Bollier himself told Köchler that he was offered $4 million if he would connect the timer to Libya."

9. Tony Gauci, the Maltese shopkeeper, ... described al-Megrahi as ‘6’0’’’ (he was 5’8’’), ‘50 years old’ (he was 37), and ‘hefty’; said that he ‘had been to the shop before and after’, ‘had been there only once’; that he ‘saw him in a bar months later’; that he ‘will sign statement even though I don’t speak English’; that al-Megrahi ‘was similar but not identical’, ‘perhaps like him but not fully like him’, and, fatally for any identification of al-Megrahi in the first place, that he was ‘like the man in the Sunday Times’ (in other words, like Abu Talb, whose picture Gauci had initially identified).

"But Gauci’s evidence was needed and, reports suggest, handsomely rewarded. He apparently now lives in Australia, supported by millions of US dollars."


10. "That a court of three experienced judges convicted on such evidence and that an appeal court upheld the conviction is profoundly shocking.

11. "Köchler, the UN observer, reported finding the guilty verdict ‘incomprehensible’ in view of the court’s admission that Gauci’s identification was ‘not absolute’.

"We had come to believe that such an outcome, resting on invalid identification, was no longer possible.

"‘The guilty verdict’, Köchler wrote, was ‘arbitrary, even irrational’ with an ‘air of international power politics’ present ‘in the whole verdict’, which was ‘based on a series of highly problematic inferences’.

"He remarked on the withholding of ‘substantial information’ (‘more or less openly exercised influence on the part of actors outside the judicial framework’) and on the very visible interference with the work of the Scottish prosecutors by US lawyers present in the well of the court.

"But most seriously, he set out his ‘suspicion that political considerations may have been overriding a strictly judicial evaluation of the case’...

" Dr Köchler recorded at its conclusion that it was ‘not fair’ and that it was not ‘conducted in an objective manner’, so that there were ‘many more questions and doubts at the end than the beginning’."

An Iraqi teenager called Samir worked for the British army.

He accidentally opened the door of a room where two male soldiers were having gay sex.

According to Samir:

"The man who had punched me was stronger than me, he grabbed me by the neck and kicked my legs from under me and I fell to the floor.

"I fell on my back.

"He took out a knife and held it against my neck … I was terrified that they were going to kill me at this point.

"The other soldier started to rip my trousers down … I started screaming.

"He then pulled my underwear down.

"All this time the other man was holding me down and putting the knife against my throat.

"They then flipped me on to my stomach."

Samir says both soldiers took it in turn to rape him.

They then slashed him with the knife.

Kasim Mehaddi Hilas says he witnessed the rape of a boy prisoner aged about 15 in the notorious Abu Ghraib prison in Iraq.

"The kid was hurting very bad and they covered all the doors with sheets," he said in a statement given to investigators probing prisoner abuse in Abu Ghraib.

"Then, when I heard the screaming I climbed the door … and I saw [the soldier’s name is deleted] who was wearing a military uniform."

Hilas describes in horrific detail how the soldier raped "the little kid".

ANGIOLINI WANTS JUSTICE?

In Scotland, the Lord Advocate, Elish Angiolini, said she "deplored" al Megrahi's attempt to challenge his conviction.

Is Angiolini one of the reasons why the reputation of Scottish Justice is in tatters?

Angiolini is responsible for prosecutions in Scotland.

Reportedly, the Scottish Criminal Cases Review Commission concluded that the Lockerbie judges reached an unreasonable verdict based on unreliable evidence. (Lockerbie bomber disputes conviction with new dossier)



Archbishop Desmond Tutu, the Private Eye editor Ian Hislop and former shadow Scottish secretary Sir Teddy Taylor have written to the United Nations calling for a public inquiry into the Lockerbie bombing.

The letter to the UN General Assembly has also been signed by Jim Swire, who lost his daughter Flora on the Pan Am flight.

It has also been signed by Professor Robert Black, one of the architects of the Scottish court that convicted al-Megrahi of the bombing.

Both Dr Swire and Prof Black believe Megrahi is innocent

The letter calls for the inquiry to investigate allegations of tampering with evidence, the withholding of evidence from the defence counsel and the harassment of potential witnesses.

A spokeswoman for the Scottish Government said it supported the conviction and had released as much relevant information as possible. (Megrahi: I'll persuade Scots I'm not guilty)

Europe better than America? Switzerland is peaceful but not perfect?

On 16 September 2009, Steven Hill, at the Guardian, wrote about America's failed model for the world

Among the points made:

1. The United States is the last advanced nation that does not have universal healthcare.

2. One Austrian said that the Americans "blow billions on a useless war in Afghanistan and Iraq, and billions more to bail out banks that nearly bankrupted the world economy", but they don't ensure healthcare for their own people. It's as if American democracy "doesn't work anymore."

3. Europeans are reminded of the poor US response to Hurricane Katrina.

According to Steven Hill, "The last remaining superpower is not looking so super anymore, whether in Iraq, Afghanistan, healthcare, the economy – not anywhere."

4. Europe currently has lower unemployment than the United States. Its per capita economic growth rate was slightly higher than America's in the 10 years leading up to the economic crisis.

5. German chancellor Angela Merkel once was asked by Tony Blair what the secret was of her country's economic success. She replied: "Mr Blair, we still make things."

6. Gunter Verheugen, vice-president of the European Commission, explained Europe's recipe for success: "Don't try to be cheaper. Try to be better."



Switzerland is not perfect but it is peaceful and prosperous.

Switzerland is divided up into counties (cantons) and towns (communes).

In Switzerland, the central government (federal government) is not given too much power.

The cantons and communes have a lot of power.

A referendum is held if a fair number of people are not happy with a government policy.

The central government controls foreign policy, defense, the railways and the mint.

There is a six-month period during which a referendum can be called by any person or group able to get 50,000 signatures on a petition. A central government policy can be thrown out by a simple majority vote in a referendum.

The cantons and communes control economic policy, welfare policy, the police, education and so on.

Each canton has its own parliament and constitution.

Switzerland spends a lot on welfare and education but manages to keep taxes relatively low.

This is because there are no huge ministeries full of useless civil servants, or bureaucrats.

And big business is not ripping the system off.

Cantons and large communes have referendums and 'initiatives'.

An 'initiative' is when an ordinary citizen proposes a new policy or law.

Although Switzerland is better than the USA, it is not perfect.

No doubt, Swiss institutions have been infiltrated by the CIA and its friends.

In Switzerland, in 1999, a former military accountant, Dino Bellasi, claimed that he was ordered to set up a secret army independent of Switzerland's government.

Bellasi claimed that he was working for intelligence service chief Peter Regli when he embezzled $5.8m from the defence ministry and set up a weapons arsenal.

Bellasi alleged that he diverted the funds over a five-year period to finance a new secret army.

The Swiss Federal Prosecutor Carla del Ponte said there was no evidence to support Mr Bellasi's claim that he diverted the money for a secret army.

Del Ponte, who became a UN Prosecutor, had meetings with CIA boss Chief George Tenet.

Del Ponte "made a national reputation as the scourge of organized crime and large-scale financial fraud, including prosecuting figures associated with major banks, some with Vatican connections, and politically well-connected Mafiosi.

"She explained that she often had to contend with the muro di gomma , the 'wall of rubber' thrown up by the rich and politically well-connected, when their activities came under investigation." (Hungry for Truth, Peace and Justice: UN Security Council in 2008 ...)

QUESTIONS ON 9 11

According to ABC News: "The plans had the written approval of all of the Joint Chiefs of Staff...

"But they apparently were rejected by the civilian leadership and have gone undisclosed for nearly 40 years." (U.S. Military Wanted to Provoke War with Operation Northwoods - ABC News)

The Daily Mail, on 6 August 2005, told us about the Pentagon's Operation Northwoods, which dates back to 1962 and whose documents have been released from the official archives:

"In the Pentagon, a top secret team drew up a plan to simultaneously send up two airliners painted and numbered exactly the same, one from a civil airport in America, the other from a secret military airbase nearby.

"The one from the airport would have military personnel on board who had checked in as ordinary passengers under false names.

"The one from the airbase would be an empty drone, a remote-controlled unmanned aircraft.

"Somewhere along their joint flight paths, the passenger-carrying plane would drop below radar height, and disappear, landing back at the airbase and unloading its occupants in secret.

The drone was to crash and the world was to be told that innocent people had been killed.

Operation Northwoods was to involve the killing of Americans. (Operation Northwoods - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia) It was vetoed by the Kennedy government.

In September 2009, Asia Times, whose website gets around 2 million readers per year, had articles by Pepe Escobar entitled Fifty Question on 9/11 and More questions on 9/11

1. In early 2001, Afghanistan's Mullah Omar reportedly offered to deal with Osama in exchange for the lifting of sanctions. Why was the US government apparently not interested?

2. Eight of the people on the original FBI list of 9 11 hijackers were found to be still alive after 9 11. How could this be?

3. All four planes allegedly involved in 9 11 have thousands of parts with a serial number. Why was not a single one of them recovered?

4. How come the cell phones (allegedly) worked on the 9 11 planes?

5. Why did the stock market see an enormous surge in 'put options' on United Airlines and American Airlines on the day before 9 11?

6. How did the passport of alleged hijacker Satam al Suqami survive in the World Trade Center debris? The flight recorders did not survive.

7. Why was a military grade of thermite found at all sample sites surrounding Ground Zero?

8. A large number of 9/11 witnesses heard and saw explosions going off inside the Twin Towers long before their collapse. How come?

9. Why did the BBC confirm live on air the collapse of the WTC 7 building - which was not even hit by any plane - no less than 23 minutes before it actually collapsed?



10. Dov Zakheim was CEO of SPC, a company making systems for remote control of airplanes.

Six months before 9/11, he became supervisor of a group of Pentagon comptrollers responsible for tracking $2.3 trillion missing from the Pentagon books.

Many of these comptrollers died on 9/11.

Why has there been no investigation of Dov Zakheim?

11. Five Israelis set up a video camera on top of their white van pointing at the Twin Towers before they were hit. Later they were seen celebrating.

According to the FBI, two were Mossad agents. They admitted on Israeli TV that they had been sent to New York to "document" the attacks. What was going on?

12. Two US employees of Odigo, an Israeli company based in Herzliya, the headquarters of Mossad, received a text message about the attack on the WTC two hours before it happened.

13. ICTS International was the company responsible for airport security at Dulles, Logan and Newark airports on 9/11.

This company, owned by Ezra Harel and Menachem Atzmon, employed lots of former Israeli Shin Bet agents. Why has the company not been investigated?

14. Larry Silverstein leased the WTC seven weeks before 9/11.

Silverstein over-insured the WTC against terrorism. Why?

15. Why was anthrax mailed to the only two US senators who voted against the Patriot Act?

16. Situation room director Deborah Loewer followed Bush to Florida on 9/11 although that is not part of her job description? Why?

17. We have not been shown the full tapes from the Pentagon's security cameras. The hole in the Pentagon is smaller than the hole that would be caused by a Boeing 757. No significant plane debris and no remains of passengers were ever found. How come?

18. The 9/11 Commission did not consult engineers and architects who could have shown that steel and concrete towers cannot dissolve into molten metal and fine powder in only 10 seconds after localized and relatively low-temperature fires. Kerosene cannot melt steel. What was going on?



19. The 9/11 Commission did not consult airline specialists who could have explained that trainee pilots, who had practiced on light aircraft for a few weeks, could not land a jet on the ground floor of the Pentagon. Why not?

20. The two co-chairs of the 9/11 Commission, Thomas Kean and Lee Hamilton, wrote in the New York Times in January 2008 that the CIA "failed to respond to our lawful requests for information about the 9/11 plot [and] obstructed our investigation." What was going on?

21. Osama bin Laden has not been formally indicted by the FBI, in connection with for 9/11. Why not?

22. How could all the alleged 19 'hijackers' have been identified in less than 72 hours, without a crime scene investigation?

23. None of the 19 'hijackers' appeared on the passenger lists released the same day by both United Airlines and American Airlines. How come?

24. Why did Mohammed Atta study flight simulation at place surrounded six US Navy training bases?

25. There were eight indestructible black boxes on those four 9 11 flights. Who has got them?

26. 4 hijacked planes, deviating from their flight paths, were allowed to fly around US airspace for more than an hour and a half. The Pentagon's defense systems did not work. Why?



27. Secretary of the US Air Force James Roche did not try to intercept the planes that hit the WTC (which is seven minutes away from McGuire Air Force Base) and the Pentagon (10 minutes away from McGuire). Why not?

28. When the attacks took place, why did George W Bush continue to recite "My Pet Goat" in his Florida school and why was he was not instantly taken to safety by the secret service?

29. Bush claims he saw the first plane hitting the WTC as it happened. How come? Video of the first plane hitting the tower did not surface until AFTER the second plane had hit World Trade Center.

30. A number of experienced airline pilots say that the complex flying maneuvers of 9 11 could only have been accomplished by remote control. So?

31. Frank de Martini, WTC's construction manager, said "We designed the building to resist the impact of one or more jetliners." So?

32. Mayor Rudolph Giuliani authorized the immediate shipment of WTC rubble to China and India for recycling. Why?

33. Metallic debris was found 13 kilometers from the crash site of the plane that went down in Pennsylvania. Was the plane shot down?

34. Former Pakistani foreign minister Niaz Niak said in July 2001 that the US had already decided to attack Afghanistan by October 2001. Was 9 11 to be the excuse?

35. US ambassador to Yemen Barbara Bodine told FBI agent John O'Neill in July 2001 to stop investigating al-Qaeda's financial operations. Why?

36. According to French state radio and Le Figaro newspaper, Bin Laden was admitted to the American hospital in Dubai on 4 July 2001, after flying from Pakistan. (Reportedly Osama met the CIA's Larry Mitchell at the American hospital.) What was going on?

37. Why did president Bill Clinton abort an attack on Bin Laden in October 1999?

38. George W Bush dissolved the Bin Laden Task Force nine months before 9/11. Why?

39. The boss of Pakistan intelligence (ISI) was Lieutenant General Ahmad.

According to Indian intelligence, Ahmed arranged to have US$100,000 sent to Mohammed Atta in the summer of 2001.
