2 thoughts come to mind, of course there are many things of immense value buried in the sands of the desert, not only there, under the ice of Antarctica, and under the waters of our seas and oceans. Perhaps as well on the surfaces of our other planetary bodies in space.
As for what you called books of the library of Alexandria. Would our lost history have been written on books? What I would consider to be of immense value, would have been preserved in stone or clay. Such as the Stela (stone tablet) found in many places. As well as the works of the Sumerian clay tablets. Neither of which would burn. Of course there were likely papyrus scrolls there as well however those would have IMO not provided the most valuable information.
I have released myself from the dogma of the provided historical context by the supposed main stream know it all’s of our past. I do listen to researchers like Hancock, West, Forester, and the like. A few things eye keep in mind, the pre cataclysmic civilizations were far different than ours, to the point of imagining how they existed, lived, and loved is likely beyond what we are able to do.
Rudolf Steiner does provide some insight in his writings about Egypt and prehistory.
I believe an audio can be found on YT and his books are available as well. They will give you a glimpse of his interpretations.
To look into our future may also provide clues to our past. Specifically how we are approaching the point where pen and paper become obsolete and everything is stored on bits and bytes. If there were a civilization more advanced than we are, which I feel highly likely, then perhaps that is the case. Speaking of cases, what were those hand bags pictured in all the ancient hieroglyphs we see?
However it would be wonderful to find out about our past in the sands of the deserts in whatever form they had been. Lastly, knowing what we know now of the efforts to keep it secret and to give us false conceptions, those who wish to keep these things hidden do exactly that, like in the Vatican library, the hidden vault storage of the Smithsonian Institute, the bottom of the oceans or intentionally destroyed.
