Considering Sundance’s thread a couple of days ago , I believe the following adds corroboration to the contention of politicization of the Corona virus spread by Rosenstein’s sister at the CDC, Dr. Messonnier. This should be publicized by someone with a soapbox – Also adds credence to what Rush has been saying.

On Wednesday evening we were informed that the first patient to acquire COVID 19 in US in the community had been diagnosed and was in hospital in California. Follow along this timeline:

2. Dr. Messonnier herself indicates test results are available overnight and there is no backlog (Source: http://www.cidrap.umn.edu/news-perspective/2020/02/cdc-warns-us-covid-19-spread-labs-frustrated-over-lack-tests) Quote:

“She [Messonnier] also pointed out that the CDC was testing as many as 400 samples at a time and providing overnight results. “There is no current backlog or delay,” she said.”

3. The results were likely available to Dr. Messonnier by Monday and certainly at the latest by Tuesday. Evidence for this? – this link to a New England Journal of Medicine article describing a different patient presenting with symptoms on January 19, 2020 in Washington State. This was a Sunday also. Samples were collected from him, sent to the CDC and results available the next day, Monday, January 20 (which also happened to be a federal holiday)

4. The CDC website describes the fact that they have an emergency operations center to deal with collection and shipment of samples for testing and it is available after hours, weekends and holidays.

5. Considering the above, it is more than likely that Dr. Messonnier would have been apprised of the positive results for the patient in California by Monday and certainly, at the latest, by Tuesday a.m.

6. The CDC, on Tuesday a.m., issued a notice of a tele – conference with the media for 11:30 am Tuesday. ( highly unusual from what I can gather; what was the urgency? Why not just wait for the next day – coordinate with NIH and White House task force and have a regular news conference? What did she have to say that was so urgent it could not wait?)

7. At this hastily arranged telephone conference Dr. Messonnier said the now famous “it is not a matter of if but when” community transmission would take place. She then went on to talk about potential preparation for shutting down schools and other doomsday scenarios that certainly seemed over the top for the current circumstances.
8. The media ran with it. The market crashed.

9. I don’t for a second doubt that Dr. Messonnier already knew that there was a case of community acquired infection in the U.S. when she spoke to the press; as such, she knew that when it came out publicly the next day, she would appear prescient and this would add to her credibility and serve to make her doomsday scenario perhaps more plausible/credible in the mind of the public, shut down any criticism and further feed the hysteria. Again, think about it- what did she have to say on Tuesday that was so urgent that she had to hurriedly arrange a teleconference with the press without coordinating with any other agencies or the White House?

I don’t understand how the CDC could make an announcement as important as yesterday without it being tightly coordinated with the WH. There should have been an Oval Office meeting, a statement by POTUS about protecting people, and then a press avail by experts. Bizarre.

11. The linked article (under point 1 above) states that the medical center taking care of the patient was informed by the CDC on Wednesday – three days after the sample was collected and for which results, per Dr. Messonnier, are normally available overnight. Why were they informed only on Wednesday? What time on Wednesday were they informed? Recall the New England Journal article linked above had a patient from which samples were collected on a Sunday and the medical center received the positive diagnosis from the CDC the next day, Monday.

12. Moreover, when was the news of the first community acquired COVID 19 in the US released to the public? – on Wednesday evening, during Trump’s news conference – Coincidence? I think not- it was likely to try to embarrass him. After all – from the above it is clear that the CDC must have had the results either Monday on Tuesday – but the public is informed on Wednesday evening??

13. Admittedly the above contentions rely on circumstantial evidence, but I think the inferences made are quite reasonable. To me, this smells to high heaven and is the epitome of the “Never let a good crisis go to waste” mentality. They will do anything to undermine and disparage this President. Everything is all politics all the time. They don’t care if people suffer or the economy tanks as long as they find a way to keep Trump from getting re-elected. The Machiavellian swamp is deep, wide and unrelenting.
