Yes, the advanced method requires heating the water. Betsy has tested each method and they both make effective batches. The cook method is better for large batches and actually Betsy uses old DC Hewlett Packard power cords which convert AC to DC. Just cut the cord and strip the ends with the alligator clips. You can then use a larger glass container and keep it brewing on a hot plate or stove at the temperature you wrote.

Just want to mention  , regarding your info on generating colloidal ag. I’ve used bezel material with great success (jewelry grade -999 ) . It’s flat & easier to clean the black oxide off with a piece of brillo pad on a flat surface holding the near side with a finger & only pushing away from you  . I use 3 nine volt batteries @ 27  v . Water temp. @100 to 120 degrees for a much faster cook.  . above 120 &  risk “” freezing  ” the cathode  . I cook 1  , 4 cup batch twice @ 15 – 20 min . ea . , with a cathode clean in between & when finished  . I do 8 cups in a session  . I cut out 2 plastic disks for the upper and lower bridges  , made of cottage cheese lids with slots to receive the bezel material spaced @ 5/8″ . I’m at about 125 ppm + .
