Several of your articles won’t let me read and/or post. It brings up a captcha and the last one I went through approx 10 captchas in a row before calling it quits. This has been going on for at least 2-3 days now.

Well now we will have to give credit to Burger King for inadvertly discovering what happened to the dinosaurs. Dinosaur farts filled the atmosphere with methane till one day a primitive man stepped out of his cave atop a high mountain pass with a torch igniting the atmosphere. In a blaze that resembled a billion Hindenburgs exploding that consumed all the oxygen, that fire ingredient needed for combustion, those that weren’t burned succumbed to asphyxiation. Thankfully primitive man was still living in underground caves with their doors shut saving them from this calamity.
Perhaps the Pilgrim Society will contact me about writing new textbooks for the future?

Just finished listening to John Barnwell and Michael McKibben’s discussion and it brought to mind some insights I had into MI6 operations in the 90’s. At the time I was working in the admin of an English language ‘institute’ in Hamburg, Germany. The owner, a cowboy Brit from Devon used the justification that the Germans lost war to fleece students for high school fees with poor tuition in return. Was he backed up from GB? – not sure.
Anyway, one afternoon we got a visit from an elderly English gentleman who arrived in his big old Cadillac – unique for Germany. I was later told by the owner that he had borrowed $10,000 for some business dealings. I later found out that the elderly gentleman was an arms dealer who was supplying weapons out of Africa to Croatia with a stopover in Malta. His first shipment was seized and he needed the money to finalise the second shipment.
The elderly gentleman visited a couple of times and I got talking with him. He eventually invited me for a beer with him and his German wife Ingrid. Ingrid was the daughter of a Luftwaffe lieutenant from Dresden. The gentleman who I called Tony was no other than Anthony S Divall, a bad boy from Seven Oaks in Kent who went to work for MI6 after being arrested.
Tony was stationed in Berlin as part of the occupying forces after WWII. Tony was also responsible for funding the espionage network in the Eastern Block. He did this by smuggling IWC Swiss watches in the walls of trains bound for Russia. He also operated as a clandestine weapons dealer as a means to maintain contact to the underworld.
Tony was officially dead and buried in Sweden. He lived in a small apartment in Hamburg with his wife and his office was the reception of the Intercontinental Hotel, Hamburg. Interesting people resided there permanently. E.g. Udo Lindberg (Rockstar). Once we were at a Turkish pizzeria near his apartment and he pointed out a well-dressed woman on the phone, the one with the Merc convertible. She lived in the Interconti, was a drug smuggler and used a scrambler on her phone. He had info.
For many years he was in Africa in places like Sierra Leone where he dealt in weapons. He was an honoured guest of Jonas Savimbi in Angola. Here’s the bombshell. The reason why he was officially dead is that his handlers had to kill him off because of what he did to Argentina. He showed me the Daily Mirror front page clippings.
Tony was given $30,000,000 by Margaret Thatcher to buy six Exocet missiles, I believe it was from the Israelis. Thing is, Argentina waited on delivery so that they could end the Falklands war, and Tony didn’t deliver, thus ending the war in England’s favour.
The world of espionage and intelligence is extremely clandestine and the newspapers will cover up the realities. My last dealings with Tony were embarrassing for me. I started a consultancy in Poland in 1993. My partner, an ex hitlerjugend who was born and grew up in Lodz in Poland and was sent to fight for the Germans at age 17. He was doing joint ventures between Polish industry and the West for some years. Tony mentioned that he had an emerald mine in South Africa for sale and if we knew anyone who wanted to buy.
Alfred immediately thought of a guy called Marek Sm. Marek was a Polish businessman and also a KGB operative. Marek jumped at the opportunity and a meeting was organised for the next day at the Interconti, Hamburg. Marek was chauffer driven in his Jag overnight for a 9am meeting. The drive from Poznan to Hamburg was about six hours. Within the few hours that Marek had received basic info of the emerald mine and the meeting, he had comprehensive details of the site, the geological profile and the costs of operations. Where he retrieved this info, God only knows; but the deal fell over because there was a massive strata of rock between the emeralds and the top soil which made the venture untenable. Marek dug the knife in, we had mud on our faces and Tony walked away knowing that his swifty didn’t come off. That was the last I saw of him.
