1) the manufacturers don’t know shit
2) they rely on the PCR testing procedure which tells us nothing
3) as usual, huge amounts of money are flowing. What’s 1% of $500,000,000.00 ? Who would know if a similar amount was misallocated?
4) which group of people are the target? It looks like those over 50.
5) even with no useable vaccine, the infrastructure to “supply” the product is being constructed and it seems to me to be the main thrust of this whole endeavor.
6) also as usual, is a call for international cooperation to combat this “enemy”.
7) finally there is the statement that going forward, humanity faces additional zoological pathogens which will have to be conquered to save humanity.

It’s all Hegelian hogwash and I’m sick of it and I’m not wearing the damned 😷.

Did not wear masks. A staff person asked if I wanted one and I declined. He was polite and did not push the issue. Everyone else in the fire station where the voting took place was wearing a mask.
Ballots were paper.
So far we have avoided wearing a mask, save for one instance while traveling by air. Did not wear one in any airport but was forced to while in flight. Even then, tried to “fudge” it but the stewardess pushed the issue.
Does it get any creepier than seeing hundreds of human beings wearing masks everywhere? I worked for thirty one years in three large psychiatric hospitals in New York and this feels like the doors have all been opened and the patients let out to roam the streets. Where’s the Haldol?

Was actually very well run. A perpetual line of roughly 70 people formed but I got through in about a half hour. Paper ballots are scanned and recorded but they do keep the ballots. Have a friend who is very liberal that has worked polls here for many years and she told me that they are very careful to staff an equal number of Dem and Rep -registered people at each site throughout the County. As best I can tell the process is actually quite secure here.
The thing that surprised me was that they clearly posted that masks were only “encouraged.” That being said, there was literally only one man who didn’t wear a mask, everyone else did. But absolutely no one said anything about it to… um… me… (Guess I wasn’t feeling very “encouraged”…) BTW, last I knew Monroe County (Rochester) NY has the lowest “case rate” of any metropolitan area in the nation. 1 in 10,000 are “cases”. But still the masks are ubiquitous. It’s bizarre…
