Couple more. Originally, the last page of Shane's original 1994 script stated that there would be a sequel called The Kiss After Lightning, which never happened. The screenplay was written by Shane Black in 1994, who was at the start of the 1990s one of the highest-paid scriptwriters in Hollywood. According to Black, the script he penned was heavily re-written by script doctors in 1995.
The character "Mitch Henessey" was originally supposed to be white and Jewish and had a different name; Matthew Broderick and Richard Dreyfuss were both considered for it. Samuel L. Jackson heard about the script, read it, and arranged to do a reading. He so impressed everyone that he got the role and the part was renamed and rewritten for him. While filming scenes at the historic Windermere House in Muskoka in February 1996, there was a fire and it burned down. Supposed causes were either the heat from the film lights or a short circuit in the power cabling, but it was never proven. The shoot was reworked by filming scenes in Collingwood. Windermere House was later rebuilt and reopened in the spring of 1997.[1]
The ice skating scenes were filmed in sub-zero-degree temperatures using an aerial rig and was complemented by later green screen shots in a studio. A scene in which Charly (Geena Davis) does a double axel and shoots her opponents upside-down in mid-air was scrapped when it was found impossible to make it look fluid and credible.[2]
Of all the films he has made, director Renny Harlin says The Long Kiss Goodnight is his favorite. In a 2012 interview with Nuts magazine, Jackson stated the same.
In an early cut Mitch Henessey dies, but in a test screening an audience member shouted "You can't kill Sam Jackson!" and Harlin changed the final cut so that his character survives.

There are a bunch of little things in this movie i'd have to watch it over again to give some really good ones I know a few though. The movie released on oct 11, 1996. Turn that around for 69 911. The bad guy in the film is a character named "One Eyed Jack"(one eye symbolism and possibly the fool/joker). The cover also has heavy one eye symbolism. The main characters boyfriend is named HAL. More interesting stuff I can't think of atm. Luke (David Morse), believing him to be Samantha's fiancé. Waldman catches up, trying to warn them of something, and they realize too late that Luke was actually Samantha's last assassination target, "Daedalus"; Luke kills Dr. Waldman and captures and tortures Samantha (has her strapped to a large water-wheel to enquire why she's resurfaced after all these years), whilst repeatedly held underwater she's finally jolted into remembering her past life. Samantha escapes, kills Luke, and escapes with Mitch. First however, she has a quick snazzy blond 'makeover' to her old self, which Mitch hardly recognises.

I don't mean to get 'pissy' with you, but I am constantly having to justify the time I spend on this stuff and your comment, ones like it and the lack of comments 'in general'...are really making me think twice. I'm thinking that I'm wasting my time doing this type of thing, and that 'overall' maybe I would be better off not bothering...I could just as easily, spend the time doing something else. Yes...I've often considered this in 'video form'...but I've yet to do anything about it and I'm not sure if I ever will, let's say I'm still undecided. Folk seem to want 'info' in video form, perhaps (in part) due to intellectual laziness, but I do think reproducing this is in a 'video format' would be quite effective. Put it this way...I have already 'storyboarded out' the contents for any video, should I wish to go this route, the issue is having available time and a will to do it. Yeah...we spotted the 'ritual dance' aspect from BTTF. Thanks for the comment.

What EVERYONE seems to have missed is that the numbers on their prison uniforms add up to 777

Raplh Fiennes' character has 112 (also the door behind him as he walks in has 112 above it)

The other three prisoners (besides Harvey Keitel's shirtless character) have 399, 136 and 130

399+136+130=665

665+112=777

I suspect there is some significance in the list of numbers that Keitel rattles off as well, but as of yet I can't work it out.

Also, when Fiennes opens the box with the cake it it, the unfolded cube creates a crucifix. Which is then inverted when the camera turns to face Keitel. At which point we see the Square & Compass.

Speaking of the rain Bow-man (nice one), in LOST Season 3 Episode 17 there is a scene that contains a Kubrick inspired "accidental" lens flare that results in a rainbow placed directly over Hugo's head. Amazingly it manages to precisely cover his left eye and end right in the middle of his head. This happens at exactly the 33:00 mark of the episode. Even more amazingly the dialogue for the scene has two of the characters discussing Superman (serpent/rebirth/ascension) and The Flash (777), such that Hugo says "The Flash" right after the lens flare showing us where the rainbow ends.
