Hi there Phat, I am still catching up with your blogs so am grateful they are still up here. Regarding TD, the first shot of the first interview with Marty was directly into the camera, evoking HAL. Later on in the first episode, Rust carefully places his beer on the table next to the other three visible cans so that four 16's are visible, totalling 64, which is 8*8, and 88 is the Illuminati number according to your next blog. Speculation could conclude that Rust knew he was being observed and maybe even manipulated by the PTB, or that he was ... but no, I'd rather not think he was working on their side, even though he had similar philosophies, but more that he was working on being true to himself.

On a more mundane note, is there anyone else having problems viewing embedded flash objects? I keep seeing blank white boxes and if I right click on them I just get, movie not loaded. Searching the net for hours has not helped me find a resolution. A pity, because I feel I am losing something not getting the full picture you are trying to share with us.

Thanks for the support (both of you). Thanks for putting me onto that TD series...I can hardly stop watching it tbh! I had literally given up on TV shows...but this is different gravy. Along with Twin Peaks & The Singing Detective...True Detective (S1) is now in my top 3 TV shows of all time...it deserves it place, right up there. The writing/script is absolutely top notch work (what a head fuck), as is the casting, cinematography, sound/music etc etc. Like I've already said..this is a landmark in TV (imo) and this show has raised the 'ante' to the Hollywood film industry.

The Singing Detective was a huge 'writing' influence on Twin Peaks, at least according to co-writer Mark Frost it was. I love Dennis Potter's work and always have done.

Re: True Detective (S2)...God help Farrell & Vaughn, I can't see them surpassing McConaughey & Harrelson (who have likely produced the greatest TV/Film cop partnership of all time)...it's gonna be a big ask to even get close to S1, but we can always hope!

One eye, one leg, gets hanged for stabbing John Cleese of all people in the side, resurrected, suspended by ropes again, struck on the crown, lightening, you name it. Kind of a laughable little film. Can't blame you if you ever passed over seeing it. Not the kind of flick to inspire any Spirit of the Beehive-like fascination, that's for sure.

Gotta agree with the above comment, this here is some mighty great work, Phat. You've clearly honed your knack for this stuff over the years, to where it would almost seems as though it's organizing itself, were it not for the tiny touches of good humor here and there keeping things light.
I don't mind telling you that between the hook-up with The outstanding Singing Detective (I'm only halfway through so don't say anything) and the scoop you got on True Detective, it's been one of the best Yule time gifts I could never know to ask for. I hope you yourself had an equally merry li'l solstice, and do enjoy a worthwhile 2015.
And the missus also says "hi" and thanks, and wanted me to link you some of my old work from when I was involved with soundboard prank calls using voice clips of Mr. Jack Nicholson. She knows I've been wanting to share these tracks since Halloween; and while naturally I have to be doubtful you're into audio vérité, I'll admit it was the little lady's insistence behind me writing you my whole hanged man experience with True Detective, so I have to hand the rightness to her that it's possible you could get a couple laughs or something out of the small body of work.
It's actually because of messing around at the Jackulator site that I first started to pick up on the more-than-coincidence strangeness of the entertainment industry, and why I eventually ended up on pages like yours. It's also because of all my time there that I'm still going by "Uncle Bingo."
