State farm is famous for defrauding hurricane katrina victims. This video seems to be mocking people who need insurance and makes them look like foolish idiots..the founder of state farm was german.

All very very disturbing...few people in the world have made the same connections you have. Have not had the time to look at each of your detailed descriptions. Care to summarize what you think is going on with all this? Rainbows, tarot cards...etc. What is the bottom line? What the hell is going on? The video is very much on point, and via the wheel, which (as I'm sure you're aware) seems to show a child acting as 'the anubis' wrapped around the wheel. The posed body shape (on the wheel) really synchs with the tarot card and it features heavily from the opening. This is a very good spot that you made, thanks for the heads-up. I've only seen the film Bronson...in respect of Refn and I only gave that a cursory viewing, tbh. Even so, I did notice the heavy nods to Kubrick's A Clockwork Orange. Example...via the asylum scene, which featured The Pet Shop Boy's track "It's A Sin". "It's a sin, it's a sin, it's a sin" is part of the dialogue that Alex shouts in ACO, while he is strapped to the chair in the reprogramming cinema @ the asylum.

Anon...I've already kind of explained the lesson of the hanged man, beyond the bog standard view, a view that (imo) is based in ignorance and a lack of understanding of the symbolism employed. You see a 'hanged man' and that is ALL you see, and likely assume that there is nothing to be learned beyond that literal image (think, a picture paints a thousand words etc). You make a personal choice (of your own) on how you wish to interpret the imagery (you've chosen to view it in a solely negative and destructive sense) usually based on contemplation, reflection and the sum total of your own experience and knowledge.

It is believed, that there is a well established tradition (within enlightenment) whereby 'profound truths' are deliberately couched/clothed, in what apparently seems unsavory and scary subject matter. The point of this technique, is that only those with a fearless attitude, a degree of understanding, an ability to see beyond the facade and to be able to discriminate...will gain access to the 'esoteric' truths (for the few). For the rest (who lack these qualities, aforementioned) only the leftovers, the 'exoteric' apparent truths (for the many) can be accessed. Simply put, you decide your own level of involvement...by the choices you make.

Fear, ignorance and superstition are the true enemies of man and his progress.

The lesson of the hanged man is relatively simple (imo)...it is about the transition form the old 'ego-based' way of living, into the new 'soul-based' way of living. The old self is 'symbolically hanged' (after reaching a level of understanding/wisdom), hence the card being heavily related to self-sacrifice...the sacrifice of the 'old and ignorant self'.

Suicide is an escape form nothing...according to the ancient traditions, the net result of such action is to be damned. Self destruction, avarice etc, sins which are equally viewed as the same.

I'm certainly not sitting through the whole new 'glut' of superhero movies...they make like a new superhero movie, what, once every week? Lazy film making at its finest and most crass. They're not so much films, but video games on screen. There are plenty of newer aspects in the recent posts...covering True Detective, Grand Budapest Hotel, The Martian, Interstellar etc etc.

Newer films (dumbing down) are the lower end of the spectrum...they've had limited coverage and limited viewership (in comparison), their 'overall' cultural impact is also called into question. The reason people like Kubrick (and his ilk) feature so heavily and so repetitively, is due to the fact that Kubrick was one of the 'key' progenitors of the 'videodrome' in which we live. It's like leaving Shakespeare out of a general discussion, in relation to the written word!

So, I'm not surprised that I don't cover all general Hollywood dross...those are wasted hours, that I can never get back.

Think of the tarot hanged man...the inverted upturned feet (that reside at the top of the image) which is where the 'head' is, if we were hanging someone from the neck. The upturned feet (where the head should be, in traditionally hanging) can represent the 'spiritualization' of man's lower nature. IOW, a spiritual ascent of some type is being inferred....which why the feet (lower nature/lower self) is where the head (higher nature/higher self) would be.

Tok, I've never even heard of this Miles W Matthis, any relation to Johnny? Just joking, of course. I had a quick look and I can't say that I'm very impressed...example, he talks about films being totally bereft of any moral/religious centre. I would tend to agree, in the straightforward sense of watching, but in the more subliminal and oblique way (as I deal in) they are full of nothing but (religion, mystery religion etc). He seems to view everything through a 'literal lens' and this can only hinder, confound and confuse (which is the feeling I get when I read his articles) just as it has hindered bible literalists for centuries, if not millenia.

So, at this point...I'm inclined to view his output as just 'noise'. Might not be what you want to hear, but there it is.

I suppose we ought to consider 'pi' and the 'pi/pyramid' in terms of circles (wheels), I've given that a little thought. Not seen 'Despicable Me' but I think that is the film with Steve 'Evan Almighty Carell'. I've not seen Evan Almighty either, but I'm reliably informed that Morgan 'God' Freeman sits in a tree (tree of life) with Evan (Carell) and in relation to building Noah's Ark. Ha, ha...yes, I've seen that one, anon. A Clockwork Orange vs The Simpsons...the pervasiveness of Kubrick imagery is everywhere and The Simpsons is no exception. The same type imagery is used Barry Lyndon too...Barry, reaching for the ribbon hidden in Nora's dress. I noticed a blatant 2001 monolith reference in Zoolander, the apple computer and Stiller/Wilson playing the monkeys, even the 'bone' aspect turns up. A few minutes before the Kubrick Zoolander scene, Ferrell mentions a Jacob Mubrick (Kubrick) and then the scene follows a few minutes later. I couldn't help notice, that the scene is also performed in front of multiple pictures of 'the jester' (aka The Fool).

Hi there tokugawa7...I personally don't see 'the hanged man' aspect as ultimately being connected to 'hanging' in any kind of physical sense tbh, but rather in a metaphorical sense. Hanging of 'the old psychological/spiritual self' to advance to a new kind of 'psychological/spiritual self'. Hanging, is the concept used to denote the fundamental change from the old way of thinking to the new (sudden self-realization). Hence, all my references and mentions of a major point/change in self-realization re: the hanged man etc. From that POV, it can be viewed in a totally different way and perhaps even a positive way. Yes, there are many instances of a person/persons 'hanging' and literally...as I've shown here, but those are likely required/used to create the strong 'meme pattern' in the first place. If there is a particular concept that is desired or required and one that is to be imprinted (in a mass way) and let's say in this instance, that the concept is 'the hanged man'...what would be the most effective way to achieve that end? Imagery connected to 'hanging' would be my guess.
