In the previous article in our ongoing trek through the book of John, we explored chapter 5 and its documentation of Jesus healing on the Sabbath, which was a prophecy of the coming millennial reign of Christ on Earth with His Church Saints for one-thousand years. It will be an extraordinary time in which humanity will enjoy a long Sabbath rest of Paradise restored to Earth. In deciphering why this lion statue should be so prophetically significant, it is first important to understand as a foundational starting point that, in biblical scripture, the “lion of Judah” is the name given in reference to Jesus Christ.

In the previous article in this book of John study series, we explored the third chapter and Jesus’ meeting with Nicodemus. Here, we shall continue on to the next chapter in this series with chapter four and its documentation of Jesus’ meeting with the Samaritan woman at the well. Before beginning, let us again remind ourselves of a phenomenon that occurs within the pages of this sacred writ that we know as the Bible – a phenomenon that points us to the Providential and Divinely orchestrated structure of this book – as with all books of the Bible.

THE DEITY OF CHRIST 3: THE TESTIMONY OF JOHN THE BAPTIST

In our on-going chapter-by-chapter exploration of the book of John, we have previously been exploring the Deity of Christ. In part 1, we examined His warning. In part 2, we explored the Primeval Light and Jesus declaration that He is the “Light of the World.” Here, in part 3, we shall endeavor to continue to examine the first chapter of John’s Gospel with the introduction of John the Baptist and his witness to that very same “light” we explored previously – Christ’s Deity.

John the Baptist was no ordinary man. The Apostle John reveals him to be “sent from God.” His birth, though not on the order and same plain of Jesus’ incarnation, was, nevertheless, supernatural …

“There was a man sent from God, whose name was John. The same came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all men through him might believe. He was not that Light, but was sent to bear witness of that Light” (John 1:6-8).

End times prophecy watchers have been watching for the signs of the end times for quite some time. More specifically, the signs that would indicate that the rapture of the Church would soon occur. The world was dramatically awakened to the signs of the times when in 1948, the nation of Israel was reformed in a dramatic fulfillment of the fig tree prophecy of Matthew 24. It was this dramatic end times sign fulfillment that all prophecy thereafter would be grounded upon – for without it, no one could realistically say that end times prophecy was coming to pass. But in the wake of its fulfillment, we now have a clear marker in time on which the end times signs can be observed in the watching community. For the Christian novice or for those with a casual curiosity concerning the end times who may never have heard of the concept of the rapture, the Apostle Paul, under the Divine inspiration of the Holy Spirit, received a revelation that those who have personally received Christ will suddenly and dramatically be caught up into the clouds to meet the Lord in the air as the signs of war, political upheaval and general encroaching world chaos and darkness begin to grip the Earth in the times immediately preceding this dramatic event. THE DEITY OF CHRIST: HIS WARNING

Having previously gone through the book of Revelation, lets turn our attention to the Apostle John’s first work – the book of John a.k.a. the Gospel of John. The book of John is one of the most mystical books in the Bible. John probes its depths of mysteriousness, hidden meaning and revelation, explaining Jesus as the “Word” of Creation; using the term “I AM” right out of the story of the burning bush; and following the liturgy of the Passover. If one looks closely, it can be noticed that so much of John’s message and style is contained in both books. It would seem fitting to me that they could have been called “First and Second Revelation of Jesus Christ.”

John’s Gospel (book of John) reveals the deity of Christ in His first Advent and the revelation (book of Revelation) presents the deity of Christ in his Second Advent. John’s Gospel (book of John) is woven around the Spring festivals of Passover, Unleavened Bread and Firstfruits, while the book of Revelation is woven around the Autumn festivals of Trumpets, Atonement and Tabernacles.

PRE-TRIBULATION RAPTURE TAUGHT BY THE EARLY CHURCH: APPROACHING THE RED SEA MT. SINAI EXODUS DEPARTURE MOMENT

“For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord” (1 Thessalonians 4:16-17).

“Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed” (1 Corinthians 15:51-52).

Many of us who are watching the signs of the times that are indicating the arrival of the end times and eventual rapture of the true church have likely heard the refrain and doubt of its reality from the rapture skeptics before. Many who do not believe in the rapture under-gird their opinion by proclaiming that John Nelson Darby, who was a founder of the Plymouth Brethren Church, an author and an influential proponent of a dispensational view of Scripture, first came up with the idea of a pre-tribulation rapture in 1820.
