From Palestine to Botswana and Haiti to Britain, Trump’s actions have made the United States a pariah and outlier. There is very little U.S. diplomats can do, but be called in by foreign ministries to be lectured on good manners, propriety, and behavior. Today, every American should feel absolute shame in their president and their country.

The Panama Papers, a one-year investigation by over 100 reporters worldwide (The International Consortium of Investigative Journalism) of offshore money hiding/laundering/taxation avoidance, is a cause célèbre of underhandedness seldom, if ever, revealed to the world’s public. It is comparable to lifting a rotting log in the woods and finding an active nest of millipedes, red worms, and cockroaches scampering about to escape the bright sunlight. They can’t stand the sunlight because darkness is their life.

U.S. President Barack Obama had a number of awkward encounters with Latin American and Caribbean leaders at the Caribbean Community and Common Market (CARICOM) summit in Jamaica and the Summit of the Americas in Panama. Present in Jamaica were leaders like Dominica’s Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit. Skerrit had denounced Obama’s policy of sanctions against Dominica’s ally Venezuela and Washington’s calling the government headed by President Nicolas Maduro a threat to U.S. national security. Obama and his advisers were awkwardly forced to «walk back» the national security threat charge against Venezuela during both summit venues…

The idea of building an interoceanic canal through Nicaragua, similar to the Panama Canal but deeper and wider, has inspired the Nicaraguans for decades… In July 2012, the National Assembly of Nicaragua passed a law prepared by the government «On the legal status of the Great Interoceanic Canal and the creation of its management structure»… It has become known that the project’s investor is Empresa Desarrolladora de Grandes Infraestructuras S.A. (EDGISA). The Authority of the Great Interoceanic Canal and EDGISA have signed a contract with the Chinese company HK Nicaragua Canal Development Investment, which has been given the authority to develop the project… The operator company HKND Group Holdings Limited, which was registered on the Cayman Islands in November 2012, is managed by experienced Chinese businessman Wang Jing, who enjoys support at the highest state level…
