The two of the three vaccine brands that were introduced in 1988 had to be withdrawn for safety reasons and yet Dr Salisbury in his statement to the GMC sums up by saying this is a vaccine with an exemplary safety record. Femail.co.uk's paediatrician Dr Ilona Bendefy: Dr Bendefy wholeheartedly recommends the MMR jab and does not believe that it causes autism or Crohn's disease. February 2006 MMR is an extremely safe vaccine and has been used worldwide for nearly 30 years. Over 500 million doses have been used in over 90 countries. The MMR vaccine was introduced in the UK in 1988. February 2006 The BMA:
