Everything looks very precisely surveyed off which implies intent. The campgrounds are laid out in a large crescent shape that appears to be 2/3s of a full circle. i.e. 0.666.. A pentagon infers a pentagram, which is a star. The campground is laid out in the form of a crescent. Hmmm... Crescent and Star...
