The stopped clock reminded me on another stopped clock from the Simpson's TV show. An episode titled 'To Surveil With Love' had Homer innocently leaving a bag behind at the train station. Later, thought to be a bomb, the Explosives squad detonated it, resulting in the entire station blowing up, with the station clock landing in Homers back yard.

The hands of the clock, along with the base and clock face reference 9/11/01 when turned upside-down. Of particular interest to me, are the black and white checker marks that go around the outside of the dial, each one representing one minute in time.

There are two marks near the number 10 that are longer than the rest. It would appear to be another two minute warning.

This episode also didn't use its normal opening introduction and theme song. They used to song Tik Tok by Ke$ha.
