Update on Keystone...

I forgot that the newly elected politicians don't get sworn in until, I think, January. Consequently, there were still enough Democrats in the Senate to defeat the Keystone bill today.

Just the same, it will be back next winter/spring and it is interesting that it took a 'Hail Mary' to get it through Congress.

I've had it in my spirit for several years to pay attention to the approval of a bill allowing the construction of the Keystone XL Pipeline.

After years of political gamesmanship and environmental wrangling, it passed the House vote last Friday. The senate vote will pretty much be just a formality at this stage, so the bill will be on Obama's desk by week's end. If he Veto's it, it will only delay things for a short time.

Bottom line.... this is a signaling event.
