London and the South-East has an export deficit; Scotland has a large export surplus.

According to the Mail on Sunday, 4 June 2006:

London and the South-East has an export deficit ( figures from Revenue and Customs).

In 2005, Scotland had a £3.9 billion export surplus - with machinery and transport the biggest export sector.
