US troops - rwor.org/a/1241/ustorture.htmThe UK government admitted on 21 February 2008 that UK territory had been used for 'rendition' flights.
Amnesty International, on 21 February 2008, stated that: "'Extraordinary rendition’ is a polite way of talking about kidnapping and secret detention...
"We know that aircraft chartered by the CIA and linked to the rendition programme have frequently been spotted at Scottish airports such as Prestwick and Glasgow."
Campaigners claim about 400 CIA torture flights have passed through UK airspace, despite denials by the government.
The report says there is evidence related to secret prisons in Poland and Romania.
The report says that Spain, Turkey, Germany and Cyprus provided "staging posts" for rendition operations, while the UK, Portugal, Ireland and Greece were "stop-off points".
