In Indonesia, "the head of the government Family Planning agency (KB) admits that his agency has failed to reach most of the poor people (Jakarta Post 21 June 2008).
"It is not just in Jakarta that land is being taken from poor people.
"Data from the government shows that less than 1% of people in Indonesia pay direct taxes. When the government gets tax money, some of it is stolen by government people."
