Allegedly, Oliver Gilbart-Smith sexually abused John Affleck, when Affleck was a child.
The 'Nine' have received an out-of-court settlement totalling more than £300,000.
However, no-one has ever been convicted of criminal offences regarding the abuse at the council-run Green Field House, between 1964 and 1970.
The home was then managed by ex-soldier Don Prescott, who died about 19 years ago.

On 6 July 2010, it was reported that John Affleck, 52, threw petrol over Oliver Gilbart-Smith, 62, when Gilbart-Smith appeared in court.
Affleck pounced on Gilbart-Smith, 62, moments after he had been cleared in a UK Court of 17 counts of sex assaults on boys at a children's home in the 1960s.
Affleck pulled a bottle of petrol from his pocket and doused Gilbart-Smith whom he had accused of raping him.
Judge Stephen John sentenced John Affleck to a year in jail.

A jury cleared Gilbart-Smith on 15 of the 17 charges he faced which alleged sexual abuse on eight boys between 1967 and 1970.
The notorious Crown Prosecution Service said it did not want to pursue two child sex charges which a jury had been unable to decide upon.
The allegations involved Gilbart-Smith and others at Greenfield House children's hostel in Maidenhead, Berkshire.
The hostel housed children of primary school age.
Affleck was a resident there in the late 1960s and early 1970s.
The court heard residents were subjected to sustained, systemic abuse at the hands of the home's managers and numerous visitors.
The youngsters were repeatedly raped and were 'loaned out' to other paedophiles elsewhere.

I dont care if being homosexual is no longer against the law,

I read this blog quite a lot and firstly want to say a big thankyou to whomever the mysterious Aang is.
However, regarding a lot of the comments about 'homosexuals' etc, can we please atleast say 'male homosexuals' or 'gay men' or just 'paedophiles'? Lesbians are also classed as a 'homosexual'.
However, I have yet to see article after article after article naming lesbians as child abusers. In fact I have yet to see one.
Yet the comments, and sometimes articles, continually say 'homosexuals'. Again, lesbians are homosexuals too yet these cases have nothing to do with them.
People are missing the point. Gay or straight, this is obviously a gender problem. It is men who abuse kids, whether it be little girls or boys, 99% of the time, it is men. Gay or not.
Its not just about abusing young boys, some of these boys have this as a lucrative career
in Kemptown brighton there are boys of school age earning big money selling their bottoms, they dont have to do it they do it for big money, and some fed their families on it, so please see both sides

There are hundreds of female child abusers out there. only takes a quick google to pull up sickening lists pages long of P.I.E members of female persuation. suggest you research before commenting on something you obviously know little about
