5. Christine Grahame Member of the Scottish Parliament , is believed to be considering naming the man in the Scottish Parliament chamber.

She said: "It is apparent that US intelligence has known or must have known the primary suspect of the Lockerbie bombing was alive and living safely in Washington.

"There has been a suggestion made that he is in some way an 'intelligence asset' for the US and that is why he has been allowed to live in peace.

"He must be deeply relieved that Megrahi was forced to drop his appeal and that he will never face justice for this atrocity."

6. Abu Elias reportedly now lives just a few miles from the White House.

7. He is the nephew of Ahmed Jibril, the founder of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine – General Command (PFLP-GC).

8. A document submitted to the appeal court by Megrahi’s lawyers states: "The FBI had apparently investigated ‘X’ and knew he was the nephew of Ahmed Jibril.

"X had met with FBI special agents [an appointment was in his diary for August 1988] but neither X nor the Department of Justice would disclose who the agents were or the precise purpose of the recorded meeting.

"X admitted the meeting had taken place. Extracts from his US passport were revealed.

9. Elias was also connected to Mohammed Abu Talb, an Egyptian named by Dumfries and Galloway Police as their chief suspect less than a year after the bombing.

10. The true identity of ‘Elias’ first came to light during a closed hearing at the Lockerbie trial in 2001.

The defence claim that attempts to investigate further were dismissed by the then Lord Advocate, Colin Boyd.

11. In October 1988, German police raided a PFLP-GC safe house in Neuss and discovered a bomb identical to the one which exploded on board Flight 103, as well as a Pan Am timetable.

The raid resulted in 16 arrests including that of cell leader Hafez Dalkamoni and ­Marwan Khreesat, a double agent for the Jordanian intelligence service.

Khreesat told the FBI that he had been introduced to a man called Abu Elias, an explosives and airline security expert, who had been 'giving orders'.

12. A member of the terror cell, Mobdi Goben, disclosed Elias’s true identity in a deathbed confession which became known as the Goben Memorandum.

Goben claimed Elias placed a bomb in the luggage of Khaled Jafar, a Lebanese American from Detroit who died on Pan Am Flight 103.

13. A source close to Megrahi said: "Not only was Abu Elias known to the Americans .... The guy comes into the US from the former Soviet Union, he’s the nephew of Ahmed Jibril – the Bin Laden of his day – and he just strolls into the US?

"...An American double agent was responsible for bringing down an American plane. How good a reason for a cover-up would that be?"

1. Was the Lockerbie bomber a US spy?

In 2008, Scotland's top legal expert, professor Robert Black, urged the UK government to answer reports that there is evidence that Abu Nidal was a US agent.

In 1993, Margaret Thatcher, in her memoirs, wrote that after she backed the US bombing of Tripoli in 1986, “There was a marked decline in Libyan-sponsored terrorism in succeeding years.”

2. Apparently, both the US ambassador to Lebanon, John McCarthy, and the South African Foreign Minister Pik Botha had their travel plans altered at the last minute in order to avoid PanAm 103.

3. Minutes before PanAm flight 103 took off from London's Heathrow airport, FBI Assistant Director Oliver 'Buck' Revell took his son and daughter-in-law off the plane. [1001]

Revell was an associate of Lt. Colonel Oliver North who was linked to Iran-Contra. .[1002]

Monzer al Kassar, allegedly worked for Oliver North and allegedly was part of Operation Corea.

4. The Herald newspaper was told that the CIA offered $2m (£1m) to the key witness in the Lockerbie trial and his brother.

5. On 17 April 1999, Russell Warren Howe, in the Guardian, explained how Israeli intelligence was among those that had a motive for blowing up Pan Am 103 over Lockerbie. (What if they are innocent? UK news guardian.co.uk)

According to Howe:

In 1986 a bomb exploded at Berlin's La belle disco club. Libya was blamed, on false evidence, and Reagan bombed Tripoli.

German TV exposed how the CIA and Mossad had links to the 1986 Berlin disco bombing.

Victor Ostrovsky is a Canadian who worked for Mossad.

According to Ostrovsky, Mossad tried to frame Libya by transmitting a fake message.

Ostrovsky testified that it was Mossad who set up a transmitter in Tripoli that generated a false signal about the "success" of the Berlin bomb.

There was a similar 'fake' message about Lockerbie, which may be the work of Mossad.

In one of his books, the author Gordon Thomas argues that the tagging and smuggling aboard of the lethal Lockerbie suitcase was organised by Mossad.

Gordon Thomas recounts how a Mossad officer from the London station turned up in Lockerbie just after the crash, and arranged for the removal of a suitcase belonging to a US intelligence officer in the US Defence Intelligence Agency , Charles McKee.

McKee's case was found after the crash by Jim Wilson of Tundergarth Mains farm, and contained what looked to Wilson like cocaine or heroin samples.

Within hours the Lockerbie bombing, two planeloads of 'US intelligence people' arrived at the site, and a Scottish radio reporter, David Johnston, soon heard that the bomb's target had been a group of US intelligence officials travelling back from Beirut.

McKee's suitcase "presumably contained his files on the CIA-Hizbullah-Mossad drugs ring" which McKee had discovered.

"Defence sources in Washington agree ... that McKee's group had been frustrated by the cover-up of the CIA drugs scheme (OPERATION COREA), and was returning home to insist that it be exposed."

What about Iran?

It is unlikely that Iran would use "a secular, even Marxist, Arab nationalist" member of a Palestinian cell to attack the USA.

It is entirely possible that Megrahi ... is being framed.

6. In 2007, Phillip Marlowe wrote an article entitled: The COREA Connection? Part I …

From this we learn:

Amiran Nir worked as Israel’s terrorism consultant to PM Shimon Peres.

Nir worked with the US on the Iran-Contra, Arms for Hostages deal; jointly run by the US and Israel.

Nir teaming up with Col. Oliver North in these efforts.

Nir is thought to have had incriminating evidence on Bush.

Nir was lured to Mexico to die in a mysterious plane accident.

A US Navy commander has claimed that George H. W. Bush, Sr. and Amiran Nir met at Jerusalem’s King David Hotel on July 29, 1986 to brief him on the Arms for Hostages deal.

According to Joel Bainerman: “Nir was secretly taping the entire conversation. And this provided evidence linking Bush to the Arms for Hostages deal. At the meeting were McKee and Gannon, who would die in the Pan Am flight 103 over Lockerbie.”

Nir may have had evidence of Bush’s involvement in Iran-Contra and even in the COREA drug smuggling group?

7. In 1988, the FBI's Robert Mueller supervised the Lockerbie Bombing investigation.

"He successfully kept the CIA's connection to the bombing from becoming public.

"The CIA and FBI took control of the crash scene for the first day (keeping Scottish police at bay), searching through and removing numerous pieces of evidence and luggage from the wreckage to obscure the connections of the bombing to the CIA special team that was on board the aircraft.

"One CIA defector has said that the team had been returning to the states against orders to blow the whistle on CIA drug and terrorist connections in the Middle East." - FEDERAL BUREAU OF INVESTIGATION ·

What Scotland's Justice Minister Kenny MacAskill did not say

John Mosey, whose 19-year-old daughter Helga was on Pan Am Flight 103, said:

"It seems clear to me that some sort of deal was done between Libya, Britain and America to get Megrahi to drop his appeal.

"We know that these [trade deals] go on ... but if they come at the price of truth and justice, then I'm afraid we no longer live in a civilised society.

"It's obscene. If that is the case here, which does seem likely, it stinks."

What Scotland's Justice Minister Kenny MacAskill did not say at the time of Megrahi's release:

"Look folks, we all know that the CIA and its friends were the people who brought down PanAm 103 and that the Lockerbie trial was rigged.

"But if we tell the truth about this, it will make Scotland and Scottish justice look pretty corrupt.

"And, more importantly, you can imagine the effect that the truth about the CIA would have on our trade with the USA.

"Scotland might suffer from a CIA destabilisation campaign: bombs might go off in five star hotels, in discos and in buses and trains.

"We all know that Gordon Brown wants Megrahi released, so that all these oil deals will succeed.

"So, to prevent a lot of trouble, a deal has been done.

"Megrahi gives up his appeal and we make it clear that we think he is guilty. That is supposed to please the Americans.

"We release Megrahi, and that is supposed to allow British trade deals with Libya to go ahead."




Trade deal linked to Lockerbie bomber's release

Colonel Gaddafi's son, Seif al Islam travelled to Scotland to accompany Megrahi back to Libya.

Seif al Islam said on Libyan TV that Megrahi's release was linked to trade deals.

"In all commercial contracts, for oil and gas with Britain, [Megrahi] was always on the negotiating table," Mr Islam said in interview to Libyan TV channel Al Mutawassit taped on the flight back to Tripoli.

"All British interests were linked to the release of Abdelbaset al-Megrahi," he added.

In this article, the main points made by General Mahmut Gareev, a commander during Russia's time in Afghanistan, are as follows:

1. The profits from Afghan heroin are being used by the USA to pay for its Afghan campaign.

2. When General Gareev was in Afghanistan, in 1989 and 1990, the production of heroin almost ceased, apart from in certain areas.

3. Since then, it has increased by 44 per cent.

4. 80% of the world’s drugs are produced in Afghanistan.

5. The Americans themselves admit that drugs are often transported out of Afghanistan on American planes.

6. "Drug trafficking in Afghanistan brings them about 50 billion dollars a year – which fully covers the expenses tied to keeping their troops there."

7. The US military "don’t have any planned military action to eliminate the Mujahideen.

"Rather, they want to make the situation more unstable and help the Taliban to be more active.

"They even started negotiations with them, trying to direct them to the Central-Asian republics, to destabilize the whole region and set up their bases there."

1. During the period of Israeli rule of Palestinian land, Israel has been destroying the moderate leadership, leading to the rise of more extreme leaders.

Israel destroyed the Palestinian Authority and Yasser Arafat.

2. Arafat had agreed to a two-state solution and was capable of "delivering the goods."

But Israel cultivated Hamas.

And Israel brought about the seizure of the Gaza Strip by Hamas.

Indian involvement in the Mumbai attacks

On 20 August 2009, Kashmir Watch had an article by Waqar Ahmed entitled Indian Non Cooperation in the Mumbai Investigations

Here are some of the points made:

1. India has failed to supply solid information in relation to the culprits of the Mumbai attacks of November 2008.

2. On 8 February 2009, Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi revealed that the Mumbai terror attacks could not have been carried out without internal help from India.

On 12 February 2009, the Mumbai police Chief Hassan Ghafoor admitted that two Indians who were arrested by the Indian police had been involved in the Mumbai carnage.

3. India's aims is to conceal the the role of its secret agency RAW in the Mumbai drama.

4. The death of Anti-Terrorism Squad Chief Hemant Karkare suggests that Indian intelligence agencies planned the attacks.

5. Narayan Rane, an Indian-Hindu leader of the Congress, disclosed on 16 December 2008 that Hindu politicians provided logistical and financial support to Hindu terrorists for the killing of Karkare.

6. Indian Minority Affairs Minister Abdul Rahman Antulay revealed that the killing of Anti-Terrorism Squad Chief Karkare in Mumbai was a conspiracy.

He said that Karkare was assassinated owing to his leading role in the investigation of Hindus in the 2006 Malegaon bombings which killed eight people outside a mosque.

He said, "Anyone trying to go to the roots of terror has always been a target."

He called for an inquiry into Karkare’s death.

7. Lt. Col. Srikant Purohit, of the Indian military, was found to have been involved in supplying high-grade explosives to the Hindu fundamentalists.

He played a key role in setting the Samjhota express on fire.

SACK KENNY MACASKILL

MacAskill, who does not seem to realise that the reputation of Scottish justice is in tatters.

On 20 August 2009, Scotland's 'Justice Secretary' Kenny MacAskill praised the police and judges who put Al Megrahi in jail.

It is our opinion that the police and judges do not deserve such praise.

We would like to see MacAskill sacked.

MacAskill should have made it clear some time ago that Al Megrahi could be released, without having to drop his appeal.

It has been argued that all the evidence in the Lockerbie trial was faked.

The police allegedly found a fragment of a bomb timer wrapped in a piece of clothing in a Dumfriesshire forest.

Evidence has arisen that the timer could not have survived the explosion.

On 19 February 2006, The Mail on Sunday reported that new forensic tests had been carried out by the lawyers representing Al Megrahi. Defence experts simulated the Lockerbie explosion. The results showed that the device which detonated the bomb could not have survived the explosion.

Evidence has arisen that the timer that was used in the trial was planted.

Ulrich Lumpert, a former employee at the Swiss-based MEBO Ltd, has admitted that he stole from the company a hand manufactured MST-13 Timer PC-Board that was later used as evidence against al-Megrahi.

Lumpert says: "I realized that the MST-13 PC-board, after it was handed over by me without permission was misused for deliberate politically criminal 'action'." - Lockerbie Bombing Trial Faces U-Turn after Perjury Confession

No trace of explosive was found on the timer fragment used in the trial.

The piece of clothing around the timer allegedly had Maltese labels.

According to the BBC ('A convenient scapegoat?'):

"Question marks remain about how this discovery was made several months after the disaster, and also over how the material was handled.

"The original trial heard labels on police evidence bags containing the fragment had been changed."

MacAskill apparently believes that justice was done when Al-Megrahi was found guilty.



Here is what MacAskill said on 20 August 2009:

"Let me be quite clear on matters on which I am certain.

The Scottish police and prosecution service undertook a detailed and comprehensive investigation with the assistance of the US and other authorities.

I pay tribute to them for the exceptional manner in which they operated in dealing with both the aftermath of the atrocity and the complexity of a world-wide investigation.

They are to be commended for their tenacity and skill.

When Mr Al-Megrahi was brought to justice, it was before a Scottish court sitting in the Netherlands.

And I pay tribute to our Judges who presided and acted justly."

What does MacAskill know about CIA asset Monzer Al Kassar?

Scotland's top legal expert, Robert Black, professor of Law at Edinburgh University, writes that the Dropping of the bomber appeal leaves a black mark on Scotland's legal system

According to Robert Black:

"The Scottish Government has suggested that it does not have sufficient powers to hold a worthwhile inquiry into Lockerbie.

"However, I disagree with it on this.

"I think that there is scope for a review of how well the judicial system performed and to look at whether any lessons need to be learned.

"That certainly is within the scope of the devolved powers of the Scottish Government."

Some comments on MacAskill and Al Megrahi (Reaction: Lockerbie bomber freed):

Tam Dalyell, a former Labour MP who has studied Lockerbie in depth, has consistently claimed Megrahi is innocent.

He said: "Mr MacAskill, the Scottish justice minister, has arrived at the right decision on compassionate grounds.

"I do not accept his endorsement of the guilt of Mr Megrahi, whom I continue to believe had nothing whatsoever to do with the crime of Lockerbie."

Saifuddin Jaelani, an Islamic cleric who allegedly recruited at least one of the bombers for the hotel attacks, spent four years in Yemen as a student.

According to the UK Daily Mail, 19 August 2009, Megrahi's fate lies today in the hands of "an obscure nationalist politician in the Scottish Executive, Justice Secretary Kenny MacAskill - whose chief claim to fame until now was his detention at a football match on suspicion of being drunk and disorderly." To be fair, Scotland's Justice secretary, Kenny MacAskill, has not been described as a war criminal, unlike certain politicians south of the Scottish border.

Kenny MacAskill could have released Megrahi earlier and this could have been done without Megrahi having to drop his appeal?

MacAskill's excuse is presumably that he did not receive the final reports from the prison governor and expert medical opinion until around the 15 August 2009.

The law allows Kenny MacAskill to release Megrahi on compassionate grounds.

A release on compassionate grounds has never required the dropping of any appeal against conviction.

So, why did megrahi drop his appeal?

If the Lockerbie appeal had gone ahead, there would have been useful information about a timer and disinformation about Iran?

If the Lockerbie appeal had gone ahead:

Megrahi’s legal team was going to produce evidence that a fragment of a timing device, found near the crash site, which pointed to Libyan involvement, could not have survived the explosion.

In other words, it was a fake, possibly planted by the CIA.

The legal team also planned to point out that there was no trace of explosive on the fragment.

Some people blame the CIA and Mossad for the Lockerbie Bombing.

Reportedly Mossad had helped a group within the CIA to set up Operation Corea, which involved the export of heroin from Lebanon into the USA.

Reportedly, US intelligence officers Matthew Gannon and Maj. Charles McKee had found out about Corea, and were on their way to the USA to act as whistleblowers.

Elements of the CIA and Mossad are reportedly trying to blame Iran and a Mr Ahmed Jibril.

It was Mossad which allegedly intercepted a telephone call, made two days after the Lockerbie Bombing, by Mr Mohtashami, Interior Minister in Tehran, to the chargé d'affaires at the Iranian embassy in Beirut.

This call instructed the embassy to hand over funds to Jibril and congratulated him on the success of operation 'equal and just revenge'.

However, some would say this is disinformation.

A banking audit trail to confirm the payment has never been presented.

Allegedly, a memo about Lockerbie, from the US Defence Intelligence Agency, dated 24 September 1989, states (US blamed Iran for Lockerbie bomb):

"The bombing of the Pan Am flight was conceived, authorised and financed by Ali-Akbar Mohtashemi-Pur, Iran’s former interior minister.

"The execution of the operation was contracted to Ahmad [Jibril], Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine General Command (PFLP-GC) leader, for a sum of $1m (£600,700).

"$100,000 of this money was given to Jibril up front in Damascus by the Iranian ambassador to Sy [Syria], Muhammad Hussan [Akhari] for initial expenses.

"The remainder of the money was to be paid after successful completion of the mission."

Mohtashemi was close to the Ayatollah Khomeini and he is a supporter and advisor[19] of reformist Iranian president Mohammad Khatami

It is possible that elements of the CIA worked with Iran and Jibril to bring down Pan Am 103.

On 18 August 2009, the High Court in Edinburgh, Scotland, allowed Al Megrahi to drop his appeal.

Does this mean that the High Court has no interest in finding the truth about the Lockerbie bomb?

The Reverend John Mosey, who lost his daughter in the bombing, described the decision to allow the appeal to be dropped as a "very sad day for Scottish justice".

The Scottish justice secretary can and should grant Al Megrahi compassionate release to spend his final days with his family.

On 17 August 2009, The Financial Times reported that, a week before the announcement that Megrahi could be released from prison, Lord Mandelson met Gaddafi’s son at a Rothschild villa in Corfu.

According to Lord Mandelson’s spokesman, Mandelson and Seif Gaddafi did discuss al-Megrahi.

In 2003, Muammer Gaddafi helped deliver the Lockerbie bombing suspects for trial.

Libya is a large oil producer, and has attracted British oil companies.

"Libya is...very much back in the mainstream of international affairs," the British ambassador to Libya, Sir Vincent Fean, said recently.

On 16 August 2009, The Sunday Herald (Lockerbie: after the conspiricies ... the cover up?), reminds us that in June 2007, Tony Blair did a "deal in the desert" with Gaddafi on judicial co-operation between the UK and Libya. This deal covered "prisoner transfer".

Blair's visit coincided with BP signing a £450 million oil contract with Libya.

The email suggested that senior officials were trying to kill Megrahi's appeal.

Hans Kochler, the UN observer at the Lockerbie trial, suspects Megrahi may have been subjected to "morally outrageous" blackmail to abandon his case.
