Clearly, Barnett is correct in claiming that he died while under investigation, which in itself seems rather strange timing, wouldn't you say? Let's put it this way, Nightingale was closed down in a heartbeat, it took them all of five seconds to work out that Bill (Cruise) was an impostor. It is quickly established that Nightingale spilled the details of the location and event, the ones that lead Bill to the ritual.
We're also told that Nightingale is dispatched back to Seattle, but we only have Ziegler's word for this, either way he is seemingly forcibly removed and rapidly, we're left to guess whether he survives this encounter. The film seemingly implies that 'Ziegler and his group' - seem to be aware of almost everything that is transpiring.
Could they have known that Bill knew Nick, from an earlier part of his life? Unlikely, but it cannot be ruled out.

There is little that any single individual can do to stop this, but a multitude of well informed people can change ANYTHING. I personally, and with some difficulty, have shared this post with as many people as I can, and I have sufferred some incredulity from close friends that in the end (I presume) simply didn't have the emotional strength to tackle this. In Three Days of the Condor Faye Dunaway is tied up in the movie by Redford and she discloses it has happened before.The book is short and takes place in Washington D.C..Funny how the movie moved most of the action to New York.I am still going over this post as if I am first reading it.

These weird overlaps, one one level they almost act like a form of 'intelligence chattering' echoing between films, markers of some type even. On another level, we get 'washed' by it subliminally, subconsciously by viewing, tiny mental seeds are planted (which accumulate)it's a really subtle thing. All the dialogue references to looking seeing watching observing. The movies scenes do overlap in strange ways. With regards to the pool scene i always wondered who the portaits were of in the background. Maybe he wont "tell you their names" but show? ReplyDeleteI just read up on Lovecraft's Cthulhu story, it's certainly a strange tale. Anyway...first thing I noticed was how much all this stuff relates directly to John Carpenter's career. Within the Cthulhu mythos you can find The Thing, Prince of Darkness, In The Mouth of Madness, The Fog, Village of the Damned, perhaps others I've missed too. It also very likely relates to Clarke's Childhood's End (the Overlords) and the 'granite monoliths' being another aspect of Cthulhu, to 2001/The Sentinel. The New Orleans cult ties-in with True Detective (S1).
Cth-ulhu evokes Cth-onic, Greek relating to deities/spirits and pertaining to under the earth and the subterranean, Cthulhu lies buried under the waves etc. Cthonic cults also practiced nocturnal ritual and altar based sacrifices etc. The Greek Kraken (lying in wait under the sea) seems to overlap with this too.
'Cthulhu' is a really strange Lovecraft phenomena...the whole 'fear' aspect interests me too.

I think it is undeniable that 'actors' seem to have some kind of interconnected/related theme(s) within their body of work. Not necessarily all their work, but a large part of it. It goes beyond just basic 'themes' though, there are other kabbalistic and symbolic qualities (mystery religion etc) that appear to be shot-through their output too. I don't think that typical people have much of an idea as to what 'entertainment media/msm propaganda' really is, how it operates, what it is really made up of, the subtextual elements, symbolic power or the influence that it really exerts etc.

I've always thought that the way I construct my posts, gives them the potential to be understood, even in other languages etc. 'Symbolism' is a major aspect of my writing (part of this elite religion operates under the aegis of symbolism, imo) and some of that readily translates and crosses-lines in a non-verbal communicative type of way.

Hi, great work. If I may make a suggestion for analysis, try syncing Kubrick's films together. There are some really interesting syncs, and if you use a video software, you should try superimposing the films over each other.
