ReplyDeleteThe fish symbol is often used to identify "Christians", as the Bible uses fish to symbolize men. The Lord told Simon Peter that He will make him a fisher of men, the catching of the 153 fish, etc.
With reference to Canon 1251 (9), I do believe that this is a reference to the curse in the garden with Satan being told "dust you shall eat all the days of your life", which refers to the cannibalistic nature of Satan and his kind eating Adamic-Mankind who was created from dust.
From this perspective I believe one can accurately view the "Friday fish fry" as the Catholic Sun cult symbolically frying up, serving, and eating the Lord's "fish".
