Meyer Levin was an author, and journalist, who met Otto Frank 'around 1949'.
Levin wrote novels about the Holocaust.
The first, EVA (1959) was the story of a Jewish girl's experiences throughout the war and her adjustment to life after the concentration camps.
During World War II Levin worked in France as a civilian expert in the Psychological Warfare Division.
5. In 1980, Otto sued two Germans, Ernst Romer and Edgar Geiss, for distributing literature denouncing the diary as a forgery.
The German state forensic bureau, the Bundes Kriminal Amt [BKA], forensically examined the manuscript.
The results of tests, performed at the BKA laboratories, showed that 'significant' portions of the work were written with a ballpoint pen. Since ballpoint pens were not available in Europe in 1944, the BKA concluded those sections must have been added subsequently.
The BKA decided that none of the diary handwriting matched known examples of Anne's handwriting.
The German magazine, Der Spiegel, published an account of this report alleging that
(a) some editing postdated 1951
(b) an earlier expert had held that all the writing in the journal was by the same hand.
(c) thus the entire diary was a postwar fake.
The BKA information, at the request of the Jewish community, was redacted at the time but later inadvertently released to researchers in the United States.

There are some things in life you can't quite believe no matter how often you're told they are true.
This is one of them for me but it was pushed to the back of my mind for years. Thanks for bringing it to the fore along with the evidence.

Sophisticated psyops operations are more than a century old now. The British before the Great War were masterfully skilled at it. Hitler even credits the British when describing his own propaganda techniques and plans.
The poster of a pointy-helmeted "hun" monster clutching at the globe is iconic and universally recognized.
And stands as an eternal insult to the German people.
It is an important propaganda objective to "take the high moral ground": portray your cause and your people as angelic and the enemy as monstrous and inhuman. Afterall, which normal person wants to kill someone who's just like a brother or sister? These problems are studied methodically and precisely; these days even at the neurological level.
It's plausible that the diaries are at least partially faked. Certainly they are an invaluable instrument in winning hearts and minds. Not knowing the technical details, I wouldn't speculate this way or that on their veracity. Moreover, if genuine, it is terrible aspersion on the memory of this young girl.
Nonetheless, don't let this distract you from what is important.
Namely, in World War Two, vast numbers of innocent Jewish girls like her, not necessarily with any literary talent, were horribly and unjustly murdered.
Oceans of humanity were brutalized and killed: Russians, Poles, Jews, Romani, the disabled, Jehovah's witnesses, homosexuals, unionists, dissidents. And the German people themselves suffered horribly for the sin of electing a demon in the guise of a savior: incinerated in infernos inflicted by the supposed "good side", killed during huge population expulsions.

I thought I was quite specific when asking who is enemy is.
The enemy is exactly and precisely those "elite" who treat their brothers and sisters as chess pieces, inanimate objects to be used, brutalized and discarded, no matter what the cost in human pain.
Historically, such elite include monsters like the Soviet and Nazi leadership and, even worse, their financial and ideological supporters.
