I believe that the proposed One World Currency is a major factor in this. It needs to be backed with something of value and something that can only be bought with the new OWC to make it work. That would be oil but Iran is selling oil in Euros and anything else it pleases so that, so far, foils that plan.
If Iran can't be stopped from selling oil in currencies other than the $US at present or the OWC in the future, then Iran must be stopped from selling oil, period. This will be the real and immediate reason Iran is attacked.
Hence, the significance of this quote,

If the sanctions are invoked then they will be followed by a naval blockade. This will be a replay of what the US did to Japan prior to Japan attacking Pearl Harbour.
It should be noted that Saddam Hussein changed to selling Iraqi oil in Euros prior to the US invading Iraq and changing sales back to the $US toute suite.
