Michael Cherney, now living in Israel, is a friend of Boris Berezovsky.
Cherney says he spoke to Berezovsky on the morning of Friday 22 March 2013.
Berezovsky told Cherney that he was flying to Israel on Monday 25 March 2013.
Berezovsky asked Cherney to book a hotel for him on the coast just outside Tel Aviv.
"It turns out that he didn't mean to die," said Mr Cherney.
