I have read a number of bio history entries about J.D. Vance, which say he joined the Marines after high school, coming from a poor family, which is not anything unusual in America. I found nothing stating he came from a privileged family or a blood line family, which would preclude him from ever being invited to join the Skull and Bones at Yale, and I found no source claiming he was a member of "Skull and Bones" at Yale ! So merely accusing him of being in "Skull and Bones" without any proof is basically bordering on Character Defamation, Libel, but I do not know the actual facts, I am not a witness and can not say if Vance actually was or was not a member of Skull and Bones, though it does not appear he was, because of his poor under- privileged background, he would not have been invited to join, as it is only for blood line privileged families as far as my research goes which is over a number of decades !
But aren't you assuming that the sources you have examined are fact rather than fiction? I think the narrative painters understand the importance of giving their dramatis personae a credible backstory. Vance's published biographical details may, or may not, be fiction.
I do very much agree with Satchidanand's characterisation of choosing Vance as Trump making peace with the DS. Pence was the same deal, and so was Reagan/Bush and several others.
It is still your speculation, assumption, presumption, conjecture, theory, belief, not knowledge, which boarders on defamation of character, libel, if you have no real evidence ! Do you really believe all the people in the small town he says he grew up in would not be calling him out for his fabricated bio and story about his past life in that sleepy small town where everyone likely knows everyone elses business ? So what are you implying the whole town is in on the deception, what, Vance paid them all not to out his story as a total fabrication ? Pretty extreme and a far stretch conspiracy theory you appear to be touting now, with no one coming forward in all these years to out it as a fabrication, especially after his best selling book about that community he grew up in !
No. I merely said, "Vance's published biographical details may, or may not, be fiction." There's no need to jump down my throat or be so defensive, thank you.

here is what I was saying:

I'm not being defensive I am only making the record clear as to what I have said and the fact you have misrepresented what I said, and what I did ! You should be careful about what you say about people you do not know anything about, I do not assume facts not in evidence, as you may do, because I know to do that is folly !
I am not assuming anything, I am saying I found no evidence ! I do not assume someone is guilty without any evidence being brought forth to establish any of the allegations as fact ! If all you are doing is assuming things you are wasting your time and energy like spinning your wheels thinking you are going somewhere, when you are exactly where you were at the beginning of your assumption, with no evidence and nothing established as fact ! If you went into Court with no evidence and only bald faced allegations and assumptions you would be laughed out of Court, and perhaps hit with a monetary sanction for filing pleadings that were frivolous and without any merit !
