Otherwise I note the various talking heads saying that this was the biggest deal since the Korean war proper. Curiously the sinking of a South Korean naval vessel seems to have been forgotten already. And quite right too what with it having been the Americans wot dunnit.
And then there's the nowhere-to-be-found discussion of false cassus belli: Remember the Maine! Sure, It blew up from the inside out! Remember the Liberty! Or was it an Egyptian horse freighter? So hard to tell apart. Remember the Gulf of Tonkin! What? It never happened? Who cares? Launch that war!
Sorry, I don't know what came over me there. None of the above were false. Since the media will either avoid mentioning them altogether or do so while scrupulously avoiding the words 'false', 'fake', or 'bogus' we can all rest assured that they were every bit as real as whatever the latest thing is that they also declare to be real. Did I mention WMD's? No? Well there you are.
