I was visiting the Crown Court and local police stations in Durham city centre earlier this year (2013) distributing the URL for this anti-corruption website. At the crown court the G4S employees made me turn out my pockets and walk through an airport style scanner. They confiscated my tiny pen knife (which I use as a fishing guide daily) as a "danger to the public", security guards and the judiciary but refused to give me it back when I said I would rather just leave with my belongings. I have the receipts (see above). The knife is about the size of my index finger |
